After hanging up the phone, William Cole explained the situation.

He had to go to Bat Mountain, even if it was a veritable hell on earth.

Minnie Wright grabbed his arm. "You can't go."

"They are obviously after you. If you go, you're as good as dead."

"I don't want anything to happen to you again, do you know how worried I've been during the three days you were unconscious?"

Minnie's eyes welled up with tears, "When I heard you were stabbed, I was terrified. When I knew you were fine, I was relieved."

"I haven't been eating or sleeping well these past three days."

"You and Ruth Dawn have divorced. Even if she dies, what does it have to do with you?"

"Why do you risk your life for that woman?"

Minnie's words left William stunned.

It took a while for William to take a deep breath, "I know you're worried about me, Minnie, but I have to save someone now."
