Kapitel 41: Chapter 41: The Big Shot is Sick

"You want me to get in bed? Are you trying to seduce me with your body?" William Cole paused, then chuckled.

If this had happened before, Ruth would have gotten angry and scolded him.

Today, though, something was different.

Ruth Dawn didn't get upset. Instead, she felt an odd sensation, "No, I can let you sleep in the room. But you're not allowed to touch me!"

Cole stood in his place without saying a word.

Ruth added, "Is that okay?"

"Forget it, we might even divorce someday; I wouldn't want to ruin your innocence. Go to sleep early!" Cole shook his head, walked back into the guest room, and shut the door.

Ruth sat on the couch, hugging her legs—she was feeling out of sorts.

The next morning.

As soon as Cole got up, he found a note from Ruth saying she went to work and he had breakfast alone. After that, he prepared to recall the contents of "Ghost Gate Thirteen Needles" and "72 Human Acupoints."
