Claire wasn't aware of this but when Melissa created those yellow flames, she absorbed almost all the mana circulating around them at that moment temporarily rendering her unable to use that ability.

That wasn't all, she also disposed of all the pins she had scattered and floating around the area with her flames, she was eager to finish her as soon as possible.

However, Claire was able to find a way to escape just before the fiery flames could hit her causing all of them to hit the ground instead before exploding blasting a thick dark smoke into the sky.

Claire was only able to escape just in the nick of time and at the moment, she had her back against one of the trees a little deeper into the forest away from the Demon Lord.

Her left sleeve was completely burnt off by the flames and her arm showed signs of a minor burn. The rest of her suit had burn marks obviously and she seemed to be breathing heavily with her hand on her chest.
