Kapitel 14: Chapter 14: The Storm Arrives

The cry of the people covered the arena, the Demon beasts were tearing everyone apart and so far, it didn't look like anyone was coming to their rescue.

A certain woman had almost gotten to the exit when one of the three huge snakes stretched its tail toward her and grabbed her with it.

The beast squeezed the woman with its body as she cried out in pain and horror, and while she was still screaming, the beast threw her into its mouth and she went down the throat.

With the number of powerful beasts in there, you would expect everyone to be wiped out already but a certain group seemed to be holding their own just fine.

To be fair, it was mostly Unique tier beasts, the ones below that tier, and a couple of Master tier beasts coming their way but they were doing quite well in coordinating their attacks to take down the master tier beasts at least.

This group consisted of eight people most of whom had elemental abilities and now they were just about to face their first Lord-tier beast.

The only ape among the beasts, a Lord tier gorilla that had torn a lot of people apart today was charging toward them now and they had to figure out a way to deal with it.

"I'll keep it busy from the front, the rest of you hit it hard from behind and both sides." The one who seemed to be the leader instructed before dashing toward the beast with his wind ability.

He was just about to get to the enraged beast when something unexpected came from above, pierced through his stomach, and pinned him to the floor.

The huge mosquito pulled out its proboscis from his body almost immediately because of the gorilla and the thing was dripping wet with blood.

The rest of his group just stared in disbelief as the beast stepped on his lifeless body's head to get to them in their stunned state.

It didn't hesitate in kicking and squashing them like bugs and now the only team that seemed to be trying in holding the beasts off was gone.

"After killing numerous lower-tier beasts and seven Master tier beasts they have finally fallen," Arsha muttered from where he was watching.

The mosquito beast spotted him at that moment and instead of being content with what it had down there, it quickly came flying his way.

"You're making a mistake." He intoned before taking two steps backward.

As soon as the mosquito entered the area, a hydro rope was quickly wrapped around its shoulder and without further ado, he dragged the beast down.

The mere force he used to slam the beast on the floor was enough to render it powerless but he still had to make sure the thing was really dead with his flames.

A small fireball to the head was enough to put the beast out for good.

"I guess you're my bonus."

"You're quite the strong one aren't you?"

That voice came from behind and Arsha didn't need to hear it a second time to know that it was the woman whom he asked the question regarding beasts.

"Took you that long to finally show yourself, huh? I was almost convinced that you were going to try and ambush me." He responded.

Turning to her was completely out of the books for him now that his cap and glasses were gone.

"Wait, you could tell?" She was quite surprised to find this out.

"I could smell you, how do you think I knew about the beasts?"

"That's quite a good nose you have there, but why?" She questioned.

"Why what?"

"Why didn't you inform everyone about it? This could have been avoided." She snapped, her temper seemed to have gone a bit high there.

"No, it couldn't be avoided, everything was already in place, the only thing that would have done was exempt the competitors from the bloodshed." He articulated in a monotone voice.

"And that's not good enough for you? You prefer everyone getting slaughtered while you just watch from up here?"

Listening to him talk that way was really starting to make her sick, he didn't sound bothered in the slightest.

"Well, I think I already did enough by preventing the biggest threat level, I'm sure you saw all of that." He remarked before turning his gaze to the burnt body of the Demon. "Besides, I only came here for the competition not to be some Hero in a battle against hordes of Demon beasts, I have better things to do with my strength."

"I see, you're quite the heartless kind."

"Um….I wouldn't really call myself heartless just sensible that's all, and besides, a heartless people wouldn't put a message through for help."

"Huh? How did you call for help? They took all our communication devices." She inquired with a shocked expression on her face.

"Wrong, they took all your communication devices."

At that moment, their attention quickly shifted to the arena as someone could be seen falling from the sky.

"Everyone get out of the way!" She screamed before dropping to the floor to create what seemed to be a mini earthquake.

Most of the humans who were still alive were knocked off their feet and some of the beasts got disoriented.

The person who happened to have caused this interruption was a silver-haired Aigis Academy student with purple outlines on her uniform.

"Everyone, hurry run toward me as fast as you can!" She yelled.

In a situation where everyone was getting squashed like bugs, they had no choice but to do what this person just told them.

They started running toward her but some of them still had beasts hot on their trail, however, that wasn't a problem for her as barricades of earth quickly burst through the earth the moment they got past a certain point.

Before they knew it, the beasts were being blocked out by huge, tall barricades on both sides while the people who seemed to number up to two thousand were in the middle.

"Now, everyone quickly run toward the exit, the stronger ones can break through my walls so those with wind ability help everyone!" She instructed and without hesitation, the people began to run toward there.

The insects were the first ones to fly through but since the only high-tier insect there had already been slain by Arsha, she didn't have any problem dealing with them with her earth ability.

While she was taking care of the aerial drones as she depicted them in her mind, the walls began to take the damage, the beasts had finally decided to start hitting them.

She was running past one of the hitting points when the Lord tier beast smashed through it.

"Rarrrrr!"

"Oh, no you don't." She blurted before tapping her watch. "Summon weapon."

A long battle axe materialized in her hand at that moment and with a powerful swing, she slammed the beast back into the area before quickly sealing it off once again.

Under her guidance, the people were able to get to the exit but just as the last batch of people were making their way in there, both the gorilla and bear smashed through the wall from a little distance away.

She believed that the people would be all through before they got to her but suddenly a long tail came flying their way ahead of the other two.

"No."

She pulled her axe up and used it to block the snake's tail, she was able to block the tail but her weapon didn't even make a dent in the snake's body.

The beast quickly pulled back its tail, and without hesitation, sent her flying back with a powerful hit.

All the people got through at that moment, and once she heard the door being shut a smile appeared on her face.

"Ariel, it's your cue!" She yelled.

The snake was about to grab her with its tail just as she was about to hit the floor but before that could happen, a strong blast of lightning from above hit the snake's tail but that wasn't all.

The force quickly spread through the beast's body and before long the thing turned into ash.

The bear and gorilla were quickly coming toward the third year who was now on the floor despite that but they never succeeded in getting close to her as something suddenly hit the floor and they were all sent flying back by a tremendous level of wind power.

The wind brushed up a lot of dust, and once the whole thing cleared out, another silver-haired student could be seen standing in front of the other student with a red spear stuck on the floor in front of her.

Her uniform happened to be different from that of her mate as it seemed to be a jumpsuit version of it.

"Good job Noelle, are you okay?" She inquired before turning her gaze to her.

"Yeah, I'm okay." Noelle groaned as she got up on her feet with the help of her axe.

"Yeah, you're not okay but I know you can hold on until we get out of here."

"You got that right, girl." She assured her with a smile.

Ariel returned the smile before turning her gaze back to the area of action.

That huge aoe wind blast cleared out all the low-tier beasts, the master-tier beasts and even a few of the lord-tier beasts that were still standing but a good number of lord-tier beasts were still standing, some of them weren't in good condition though.

There were seven lord-tier beasts still standing and that included the bear, the gorilla, two more snakes, two frogs, and a strange beast, it was strange because it was a huge shell that had just been sitting there without doing anything since everything started.

"Alright, let's do this!" Ariel grinned before she quickly pulled her spear out from the ground and thrust herself high into the air with her wind ability.
