Kapitel 48: No rest for the wicked

"Why the hell does it hurt so much?!" Prince Samir hissed.

They had managed to escape the Queen's discerning eye and returned back to his detached palace. Samir, Nazmi, Rasne and Caelus were allin the Prince's office… and Samir was not happy.

"You asked for b-believable wounds so I gave-gave them to you," Caelus replied flippantly. "S-stop complaining, you're an adult. I stopped the r-rotting, now it's healing on its own."

"I said believable, not actual life-threatening ones!" The Prince retorted, his golden eyes narrowed with rage.

Rasne was nearby and had attempted to intervene a few times to no avail. Samir and Caelus were oil and water; nothing could force them to mix.

Nazmi was just relieved to have the restraints gone. She was sitting quietly on the floor while the two bickered, her legs crossed and her eyes closed. The sun had risen around an hour ago, so filtered orange sunlight was shining through the windows of his office.
