Kapitel 41: Meeting Alec again - The plot begins

In the car cabin, the atmosphere fell silent again. Lafien sat facing outside, her mind filled with thoughts, while Lathel and Charlotte looked at the surrounding streets.

After a while, Lafien couldn't contain her thoughts anymore as she asked: "Do we really have to dress this extravagantly? We are even riding in a luxurious carriage, this will make people pay attention to us."

Hearing that, Lathel glanced at Lafien: "Are you worried that people will see that we are half-vampires?"

Lafien gritted her teeth and didn't speak. It seemed like saying that word made her feel nauseous.

Lathel sighed: "How long have you been outside? What I mean is… how long has it been since you went into town or any city for a walk?"

"Why do I have to go to someone else's kingdom? The Church is already large enough, I have no need to go out except when performing my duties." Lafien frowned and said.
