Kapitel 44: Chapter Forty-Four

"What?!" I couldn't help but to yell. What Soren said was absolutely ludicrous!

"I said you and I are dining with the Emporer tonight. I have the maids bringing up appropriate attire now, but you must make haste to get ready."

A hysterical giggle bubbled up from within me. I have to be mishearing him. I can't meet the Emporer! I could hear a knock on the door, meaning the maids Soren mentioned must be here. But I couldn't spare a thought for them right now. I looked up to where Soren stood before me. "I can't meet the Emporer, Soren! I know nothing about proper etiquette. What if I say something stupid and end up getting executed?"

Soren opened his mouth to respond but was cut off by Marcel admonishing the maid. 

"What is this supposed to be? Do you really expect her to wear something so frilly and tacky?" I looked to see Marcel holding the hem of a yellow dress that was covered in lace and frills.
