"Father Marshal?" Captain David was the first to speak up. As the captain of the Blue Pearl, he was naturally at the forefront in this situation, best suited to query Qian Cangyi.
Qian Cangyi remained calm, not panicked even in these circumstances.
"Please step out, Father Marshal," Captain David asked again when Qian Cangyi remained silent.
"She was not looking at me," Qian Cangyi insisted loudly, ensuring that everyone heard him, "She did not scream because of me. Jenny's gaze never fell upon me. Mora, could you step a bit to the side, blocking me from her view?"
Upon hearing Qian Cangyi's words, everyone present, besides Jenny, was startled.
"But Father Marshal..." Mora doubted that Qian Cangyi was merely defending himself. She did not believe his words.
"Could you do as I say?" Qian Cangyi emphasized.
