Harold stared out of the window. He had been standing there for an hour. His men were found injured and unconscious near the garden, trapped in the passage he had forgotten about himself.

How did Cotlin know about it? This is the private property that had belonged to the marquis for generations. Only the direct descendents should know about it. Evangeline might know about it. The thought struck him like plague, 

He wanted to close his eyes and believe that the woman would not know Cotlin but then the dots started to join. It might not be a coincidence that Cotlin got the ring.

 Damien was there bidding for him personally and the box. There was a woman with him. It was eve! 

It was Eve all along. She had found Cotlin to stand up against him. He picked up the vase from the corner and threw it on the wall. That woman! She had done it intentionally.
