Kapitel 147: -144- That's enough!

After a brief tour of Piltover, Lux and Fiora arrived in Zaun.

Currently, Lux was happily eating something, holding snacks bought from Piltover. She had a spicy grilled meat skewer in her left hand and a sweet pastry in her right.

"Fiora, I really like it here," Lux said quietly to Fiora as they rode the elevator. "It's much more interesting than Demacia. Did you see those magical things just now? And the food here is really good!"

Fiora, looking down at the mischievous girl from the Crownguard family, the niece of Marshal Tianna, couldn't help but show a helpless expression and whispered, "Lux, we're not here to play."

"I know, but since Twin City Day hasn't started yet, are we not in a hurry?" Lux nodded and earnestly continued, "And it's not a difficult task. While this place is indeed magical, Demacia has the world's best forged steel craftsmanship. I believe we can get Hextech gem that won't run out."

"Please don't be so anxious. You should be happier," she added.

Fiora shook her head helplessly.

Happy? If there were a strong opponent to fight against, then she would be happy.

"Hopefully."

Facing Lux, Fiora didn't know what to say.

She, Garen, Jarvan, and Lux had grown up together.

But unlike her steady brother Garen, Lux was the most mischievous child when she was little.

As the youngest among them, Lux was treated like a little sister, even by Jarvan. This further encouraged Lux's mischievous tendencies.

She became bolder.

It wasn't until her magic was exposed and after Lux turned thirteen that she matured somewhat.

However, even now, she remained the lively, optimistic girl who believed in the beauty of the world.

Seeing Fiora feeling quite down, Lux asked, "Did you not find a suitable opponent in Piltover?"

"No, they are not opponents worth fighting."

"What about that guy, Linwin?"

"He? Just an ordinary person," Fiora said disdainfully.

But strangely, as she spoke disdainfully about the man to Lux, he suddenly looked up at her, nodded, and smiled, as if greeting her.

Fiora didn't think much about it and nodded back at Linwin.

Lux saw the scene and said with a grin, "Fiora, do you really think he's just an ordinary person? Well, maybe he is."

While Lux couldn't see the magical energy within a person, being a powerful mage, she could sense the aura of a strong individual.

In Linwin, Lux sensed an enormous magical power.

It seemed like he had just cast magic, filling his surroundings with peculiar elemental energy, not weaker than her vast magical power.

How powerful was Lux's magic?

There was a good example.

In Demacia, it took dozens of mages casting spells simultaneously to energize Galio for half a day. In front of Lux, she only needed to reach out her hand, and Galio would be fully charged, ready to roam around. Lux herself wouldn't even feel tired.

Her magical power was immense!

So when Fiora called him an ordinary person, it seemed that Fiora, the Grand Duelist, might have misjudged.

Lux covered her mouth, laughing.

"Alright, everyone, from here, we have officially arrived in Zaun."

The elevator opened, and Linwin stepped out first.

Turning back, he spread his arms, a smile on his face, saying, "Welcome to Zaun!"

As Fiora and Lux stepped out and the Demacians saw Zaun before them, they couldn't help but take a deep breath, deeply impressed by the scene.

Coming down the elevator, they hadn't felt much. They had heard about Zaun's poor geographical conditions, being a chaotic and barren city-state.

But now, Lux looked at Zaun.

Towers towering into the sky, with round spheres above them, things rolling inside the spheres. Different colored buildings marked their distinct purposes—green for alchemical industries, white-yellow and pink for different community structures with a warm atmosphere. Blue buildings were adorned with strange gemstones, signifying hextech.

Zaun, seemingly chaotic, had order within, appearing oppressive yet incredibly free.

Zaunites with smiles riding strange contraptions, and enforcers on hoverboards in the sky—all of these scenes left Lux in awe.

Even Fiora widened her eyes.

Unlike the prosperity of Upper Piltover, the organized but wild architecture and environment in Zaun, born in the depths of the abyss, amazed Fiora.

"Do you live in such an environment?" Lux exclaimed, covering her mouth, looking at Linwin. "Councilor Linwin, this is truly a miracle!"

Linwin laughed, then explained, pointing at the white, plump spheres that pierced Zaun's sky, connecting to the Dance Plaza beneath Piltover, "Those things are called Retes. They purify the air, continuously working day and night. You can't see it now as it's daytime, but at night, it's a beautiful sight. Countless Retes emit a blue glow, like twinkling stars in the pitch-black night."

"I can imagine that scene, Councilor Linwin," Lux nodded vigorously, her innocent and lively self believing in all the beautiful things in the world. She emphatically agreed, "I think it must be very beautiful!"

"Thank you, Lux," Linwin looked at the lively Lux, smiling, and said, "You're right; it is beautiful!"

At this moment, the sound of chains clinking echoed. Hearing it, Linwin immediately knew who had arrived.

Fiora's ears perked up, and she immediately looked in a certain direction.

At the edge of the massive elevator platform, two grappling hooks suddenly appeared and hooked onto the railing. Soon after, the sharp sound of "shoo, shoo, shoo" echoed, and a woman appeared before everyone.

Camille flipped in the air, landed gracefully with her blade-legged stance, elegantly raised her head, and looked at the group of people staring at her with a dazed expression.

Perhaps Camille didn't know the impact her appearance had on the people from Demacia.

"Everyone, this is Councilor Camille from Piltover, but she also serves as the ambassador of Zaun."

Camille had arrived.

"...."

While Linwin was introducing Camille, Fiora behind him had stars in her eyes. She gazed at the woman who walked towards them, feeling her heart rate suddenly increase.

This... This is a powerful person!

A very strong one!

"Madam!"

Fiora exclaimed loudly.

"I am Fiora Laurent!"

Seeing this, Lux and several accompanying soldiers felt speechless. Lux even slapped herself in the face and then rubbed it vigorously.

"Fiora!"

An annoyed shout, Lux moved forward, reaching out to grab Fiora's arm.

But Fiora had already rushed out.

"Please have a duel with me. Please rest assured, Madam. I will be careful!"

Ignoring Lux calling her, Fiora, excited, walked briskly toward Camille.

With her neck raised, looking at the woman towering over her, Fiora excitedly said, "I can feel that you are a powerful person!"

"I want to duel with you!"

A trace of disdain flashed in Camille's azure eyes. She disliked people without manners.

But considering the other's identity, Camille could only coldly reply with her hands behind her back, "Miss Laurent, I have matters to attend to, so I cannot duel with you."

Having said that, Camille looked at Linwin and spoke, "Jayce said the stage is partially ready, but now he needs to consult the opinions of a few girls. So, he plans to let them try a simplified version."

"So soon?"

"Soon? Linwin, he brought the city's top experts. It's just constructing a stage. How long do you think it would take?" Camille said with a touch of frustration.

After speaking, she bent down, performing a noble gesture.

"Dear guests from Demacia, I apologize, but I have other matters to attend to. Please follow Councilor Linwin and explore Zaun."

"I hope this City of Freedom will win your favor."

Camille finished speaking and turned to leave.

But at this moment, Linwin raised an eyebrow because a figure flashed out, heading straight for Camille.

Fiora took a swift step forward. To everyone present except Linwin and Camille, Fiora seemed to have traversed space.

No one knew why her speed was so fast.

The sword in her hand popped out, stabbing toward Camille's waist.

"Clang!"

The sound of metal collision echoed as Camille, in a stunning posture, bent her body, raised her long leg, and used her leg-blade to block Fiora's attack.

Seeing this, Fiora's eyes sparkled. "You truly are a formidable opponent!"

"Absurd!"

Camille rebuked.

Subconsciously, the Hextech shield was activated. With Jayce's newly developed Hextech, Camille's shield no longer served only for protection. Similar to Jayce's Thundering Field, Camille's shield now also possessed the power of thunder.

This showcased the immense power of Hextech!

As long as one desires it, anyone can possess and use such powerful tools.

In the hands of a combat master like Camille, the field had been developed to its utmost potential.

In an instant, her blade-legged stance became intensely azure, with flashes of lightning. Blue electric currents surrounded Camille's legs, and she aimed a sweeping kick towards Fiora.

The first to make a move was the Demacian.

The Grey Lady is not someone with a good temper.

However, Fiora, far from being alarmed, was thrilled. She was a martial enthusiast, renowned in Demacia as a unmatched duelist – Fiora Laurent!

Therefore, upon seeing that Camille was indeed as powerful as she thought, Fiora, with excitement.

In the blink of an eye, she unsheathed her blade, and within three breath, Fiora executed thirty-seven strikes!

"Clang!"

The Hextech shield blocked Fiora's attacks, and Camille's eyes showed a hint of surprise.

Each strike landed so close?

The energy of the Hextech shield was instantly reduced by more than half!

This meant that without the protection of the Hextech shield, Camille would be injured by now!

Sweeping her long leg, Camille aimed straight for Fiora's face.

But Fiora's gaze remained calm. With her right hand gripping the sword, she thrust upward. Simultaneously, her left hand, which had been kept behind, clenched into a fist, striking toward Camille's thigh.

Taking risks for victory!

"Fiora!"

Lux shouted angrily.

Demacia came to establish connections with Piltover and Zaun.

Not to offend Piltover and Zaun!

The Hextech phone had now become a symbol of nobility and an essential item for Demacians, which is why Demacia accepted the troublesome and costly process of switching Hextech stations. This was a significant change for Demacia, which had never used anything outside its borders before.

"Enough!"

A man's voice suddenly echoed.

Linwin appeared in a somewhat helpless manner.

With one hand raised and the other pressed down, he respectively halted Camille's downward leg-blade and Fiora's upward thrust.

"Ladies, that's enough."

"Continuing will only result in injuries."

Regarding Linwin's intervention, Camille's expression remained unchanged.

She had long known that Linwin was extraordinary. He could even fly. What else couldn't he do?

On the other hand, Fiora, with her wrist caught by Linwin, looked at him with astonishment. Bending her body and raising her head, she gazed at Linwin in disbelief.

"Councilor Linwin?"

"Alright, Lux, and all the guests from Demacia, come with me. I'll show you around Zaun."

Knowing that Linwin was no ordinary person, Lux nodded. "Thank you, Councilor Linwin."

"Wait, wait, wait!"

As the group walked tens of meters away and was about to descend the stairs, Fiora finally reacted.

"Councilor Linwin, Councilor Linwin!"

"Have a duel with me!"

"Councilor Linwin! Please!"

Hearing the voices behind him, Linwin shook his head.

Indeed, the alternate universes were quite similar.

Fiora, the Grand Duelist, was someone who wanted to challenge any strong opponent she encountered.

"By the way, wasn't Jax also entangled by Fiora and then had a duel?"

Linwin sighed deeply.

Among humans, Camille was already a top-tier presence. During the Zaun Harbor incident, Camille single-handedly dealt with three hundred Noxian soldiers at night. Since then, Camille has become even stronger.

The development of Hextech weaponry allowed Camille, this "human weapon," to undergo further evolution.

The shield's energy increased, and additional attack modes were introduced – a perfect example of the advancements brought about by Hextech.

Despite this, Fiora could keep up with Camille's movements.

Should one say that the humans of Demacia are truly not normal?

But thinking about it, in the official novels, the Dauntless Vanguard of Demacia is portrayed as fierce warriors who can take on a hundred enemies at once.

While Fiora might not be as brave as Garen on the battlefield, in one-on-one duels, she is undoubtedly a match for him.

She is even certified by Jax himself, who has lived for a thousand years!

How formidable is Jax, really?

Linwin now, when facing Jax without using wind magic or activating his trump card, might find himself pinned to the ground.

A thousand years ago, Jax led a team to kill ab Ascended. In these thousand years, his body and martial skills have undoubtedly become even more powerful.

He is a millennium-old warrior left behind by Icathia.

The pinnacle of martial arts in this world!

"Miss Laurent, can we discuss this matter later?"

"Fiora, that's enough!"

Lux and Linwin spoke simultaneously.

The reason being that Fiora was about to launch another attack.

Seeing this, Lux looked at Linwin, and Linwin looked at Lux. The two of them smiled at each other.

Fiora quickly nodded. "Then, Councilor Linwin, I'll come find you later."

"Please make sure to have a duel with me!"

An ordinary person?

Fiora's eyes were shining.

How could an ordinary person suddenly appear in front of her?

That speed is comparable to Aunt Tianna's!

However, the more powerful, the more excited Fiora becomes!

She is now impatient, eager to have a duel with Linwin.

Zaun.

It turns out there are indeed powerful individuals!

Kapitel 148: -145- Seraphine's Song

The original author note: It's best to read this chapter with the song "Childhood Dreams"

In the evening, in a laboratory in Piltover:

Camille stood by Linwin's side, arms crossed, observing the situation ahead.

Initially shocked by Kai'Sa, who appeared on stage in peculiar clothing, Camille's jaw almost dropped.

The Grey Lady couldn't comprehend why someone as powerful as Kai'Sa would compromise to become an idol.

And the whole concept of the Piltover Idols group with Seraphine's purple, Zeri's yellow-green, Powder's blue, and now Kai'Sa in black seemed strange to her. Was Linwin doing this on purpose?

Kai'Sa stood on a semi-finished stage not far away. She wore a luxurious purple gown, revealing her toned and powerful legs, adorned with black delicate stockings. Camille couldn't help but appreciate the aesthetics, but she couldn't forget that Kai'Sa had a hard carapace covering her body. Would Kai'Sa not feel uncomfortable in such attire?

"Do you also know that woman?"

"Are you talking about Fiora?"

"Yes, she's formidable," Camille said quietly.

"You still remember that?"

Linwin turned to look at Camille, but the aloof Grey Lady didn't spare him a glance and continued to gaze at the stage.

Seraphine was an excellent vocalist and a powerful singer. Her voice was empathetic, earning Camille's appreciation.

However, visually, Seraphine always seemed shy and lacked confidence while singing, giving the impression of fear.

Camille gave Seraphine a rating, adding points for auditory pleasure but deducting for visual appeal.

"I know a bit about her. She is the hope of the Laurent family, a sword-wielding family known for producing martial arts prodigies. Fiora is the most outstanding one in the past few centuries."

"Can a human body reach that level?"

"In fact, her physical abilities don't seem to be too extraordinary," Linwin stroked his chin, pondering. Fiora's physical prowess might be inferior to the superhumans in the Dauntless Vanguard, but her strength lay in her martial skills.

Fiora, like Jax, is a true master of martial arts, compensating for any physical shortcomings with technique.

That's why Linwin believed Fiora might not fare as well as Garen on the battlefield.

Fiora's combat skills shine in one-on-one duels, but on the battlefield, where fairness is a rarity, her chances of survival might be in question.

Camille, on the other hand, is well-suited for the battlefield.

As for Garen, the one who can drag a defense tower around, his stamina, physique, and resilience make him an undisputed hero on the battlefield.

"It's truly unbelievable."

"She's fine. Wait until you meet a purple-skinned guy wielding a lamppost as a weapon. Remember to stay away from him; he's a real monster."

Linwin exaggerated a bit, "If you don't run fast enough, he'll disassemble you in less than five minutes."

Jax, the monster capable of leveling mountains.

Camille squinted at Linwin, and in the distance, Seraphine began to sing, using a unique language – the ancient Zaunian tongue.

"Hmm mmm mmm"

"Hmm mmm mmm"

"Hmm"

Seraphine lowered her head, hands beside her face, and began humming into the microphone with closed eyes.

Her voice was incredibly clear.

"I dream a hundred dreams a minute"

"And deep inside what I construct"

"So there's no use, don't even bother!"

Little Seraphine swayed her body, singing softly while, accompanying her, Powder started playing the drums. The rhythmic sound of the drum set filled the room. Powder, in a jacket, looked up at Seraphine, watching the lead singer's silhouette.

You couldn't help but admire it.

Seraphine's singing was genuinely pleasant, and the lyrics of the song were well-written.

Although Powder didn't quite understand the lyrics, she could feel the emotions in the song. Was it related to what Linwin said about the magical quality in Seraphine's voice?

Powder's face lit up with joy, and soon, with a pick in her mouth, Zevi began playing the guitar.

Since this song didn't require a bass, Zevi used the guitar at the moment.

Head down, strumming gently, Zevi, Seraphine, and Kai'Sa, all three danced lightly. Zevi shook her head, tapping on the wooden guitar, following Powder's rhythm.

And Kai'Sa? What was she doing?

Miss Kai'Sa, dressed in a beautiful and luxurious purple dress with black stockings and boots, danced on the stage.

Wouldn't this scene look strange?

Not at all. Kai'Sa's dance wasn't really about dancing in the traditional sense. Instead, she used her unique abilities, turning something she used to dislike into a visual effect, following Linwin's suggestion.

Who wouldn't like it?

Paired with Zevi's electric light, the scene was truly dazzling!

"So, compared to you?"

Camille listened to the music and asked Linwin.

Different from the orchestral music among nobles, Camille found this to be very dynamic music.

Not grand enough?

No, as long as it sounds good.

This was for the common people of the Twin Cities.

It was for the people of Piltover and Zaun!

Listening to Seraphine's voice, Camille's frustration diminished significantly.

In the moment Fiora attacked her, Camille genuinely considered subduing Fiora and throwing her into the Piltover prison for a few days, regardless of whether she was Demacian or Noxian.

Anyway, since you're in Piltover, please abide by Piltover's rules!

But now, the melancholy that lingered due to Fiora's earlier encounter seemed to fade away under Seraphine's singing and the performances on stage.

Linwin was right; Seraphine's music indeed had a magical quality.

"Me? It's hard to say."

Linwin chuckled.

Who's stronger between me and Jax?

"Let's call it fifty-fifty, or maybe forty-sixty."

"Sixty for him?"

Camille inquired.

Linwin shook his head, watching the stage in front, observing Kai'Sa and Powder up there. After a moment, he said confidently, "He's forty, and I'm sixty."

"Camille, I'm really strong."

Camille: ...

Camille thought for a moment and asked Linwin, "Why are you suddenly so assertive? According to your usual habits, you should wave it off, maybe say he's stronger, or give a meaningful smile without giving a direct answer."

"This doesn't sound like you, Linwin."

"This is what you asked me, isn't it?"

Hearing this, Camille laughed, a slight smirk on her lips. She whispered, "So, is this your way of giving me confidence, for the confidence of the Twin Cities?"

"Yes, with me around, we won't be weak."

Linwin said, crossing his arms.

"Besides, we have Janna. Piltover is starting to believe in Janna again, and now, Janna has become stronger than before."

Camille nodded.

She smiled and said, "That's a good thing."

As the music reached the chorus, Linwin suddenly raised his hand and shouted, "Sera, be more confident, lift your head!"

Seraphine was taken aback.

"Powder, hit the drums harder!"

Linwin waved with a smile.

"Yeah!" Following Linwin's command, Powder immediately laughed and nodded. With the drumstick in her right hand, she performed a beautiful drum flourish. Then, Powder hit it hard, immediately energizing Zevi, who now played the guitar even more passionately.

Thunderous light danced, and the yellow-green lightning surrounded Zevi, making her appear holy and mysterious.

Holding the microphone, Seraphine faced Linwin's gaze and the eyes of Camille.

Camille lifted her head and nodded at Seraphine.

She approved of Seraphine.

As Linwin had said, perhaps she really could change the relationship between the two cities.

Her singing could stir people's emotions. Even the determined Camille could be uplifted by Seraphine, not to mention ordinary people.

Seraphine was a bit stunned until Kai'Sa flew by, nudging her back. Seraphine woke up, then followed the rhythm.

Closing her eyes and opening them again, she looked at Linwin and Camille, and together, they started singing.

This was her first time singing in front of an audience other than her parents.

Not humming to birds on the window, not singing to machines at home.

Instead, singing to two great councilors.

But the feeling is quite good?

Because both Councilor Linwin and Councilor Camille have admiration in their eyes.

"And I remember all my childhood dreams."

"I find it hard to get them out of my mind."

"And I remember all my childhood dreams."

"I find it hard to get them out of my mind."

After finishing the last chorus, Seraphine, holding the microphone, didn't immediately become excited. Instead, she swayed her body and softly hummed:

"Hmm mmm mmm"

"Hmm mmm mmm"

"Hmm"

After singing, Seraphine looked at Linwin.

She saw Linwin and Camille both raising their hands.

"Clap, clap, clap."

A glimmer flashed in Seraphine's eyes.

Just like the lyrics—

I still remember the dreams of my childhood.

I believe I can change the world with music.

Although they all think I'm crazy.

But I have always believed in this.

This song is for you— By Seraphine.
