"This place held painful memories," Sheby said as she leaned against a tree, watching Safiya who stood with her arms crossed, gazing at the field where the death had happened.

Sheby had told her about what had happened and even brought her here to see the place for herself.

The king? Safiya shook her head. She could not believe that, of all people, the one to kill Ahmed had to be Princess Amara's father. But why? Or was her suspicion right and Ahmed found out something that might have caused his death?

Ahmed would not have come here if it wasn't related to her father's death. She knew him so well; he might be very playful at times, but he was sure of his direction.

He wouldn't just put his life in danger. And now Safiya was conflicted on what to do. If the king killed Ahmed, then the king would know about her father's death. But she stood rooted, staring at the field, at the cave, and not knowing what to do.
