Kapitel 159: Chapter 158

Rose is going to travel in a container that has been turned into a small luxury apartment, complete with a bed, bathroom, and kitchen.

This was done to move influential people who cannot travel normally out of their country.

Batman discovered this months ago. He traced this container to an international smuggling network.

Batman and the League took care of all serious contraband, even involving people.

The organization was almost completely destroyed, but Batman knew it still had some members, and he also chose not to touch the container.

He is watching it as a luxury item to catch a big fish when it is used.

Who would have thought that Robin would think of using it to save the irritating girl in front of Dio.

"If the choice of escort bothers you so much, why don't you let me go in his place?"

Aqualad gave another suggestion in favor of Rose, who is almost like a Buddha who has achieved inner peace.

In fact, Dio had chosen to spend these two weeks with Rose.

After living in this world, he finds himself paranoid because of the thoughts of the plots that happened in the comics and movies.

Which is why Dio was scared that as soon as the ship left the port, someone bad would come up to Rose and throw all their work away.

This is just another dull story that he could now live out.

"No, thank you, I prefer him over you. No offense. Us white-haired folks have to stick together."

Dio could feel a wink she gave behind her glasses, and he rolled his eyes at her.

"I have an idea, how about we spend the rest of the time in silence?"

Dio suggested it to Rose.

The fact that he is not in the battle makes him feel bad right now.

So, there was peace for a while until Robin gave them his report. When he told him that everyone was okay, he felt a little relaxed.

...

The container is actually not bad at all.

This container is twelve meters long, four meters wide, and six meters high.

This type of container was used to transport large loads like food. It was a red metal box on the outside, but the inside was much better.

With a double bed at the back, a small table with two seats further forward, and a small kitchen with a gas stove and a mini freezer already stocked, it doesn't matter since he has some food with him that he can conjure using magic.

The back has a double bed, the front has a small table with two seats, and the kitchen has a gas stove and a mini freezer that are already stocked.

Finally, a small box where the bathroom should be.

There was an air purifier above the small stove to get rid of the smoke, and a very basic ventilation system hooked up to a car battery to make sure they didn't die of heat during the trip.

They will have water to drink and shower as soon as it gets to the ship from the ship's water system, which will be connected by one of the corrupt men who put them inside.

"Come in quickly; we have a short time until we have to close it."

Dio said to Rose while conjuring her two suitcases and throwing them into the container.

One of them is full of weapons and ammunition that he bought for her.

"Aren't you coming?"

Rose asked with confusion and entered.

"I am, but first, I have to get something and send a message. Don't worry; it will only take a few minutes."

Dio replied.

"I'm not worried."

Rose replied and threw herself on the double bed without caring about either of them.

"Message?"

Aqualad asked curiously, as he hardly ever changes his course of action during a mission.

"I gave my word, Aqualad, that the message would be delivered."

Dio grinned with a very cold smile.

...

On the highest floor of the A.R.G.U.S. headquarters is the chief's office.

A very simple office with a TV hanging on the wall, a coffee table, and a desk with several stacks of documents on it.

A monster is sitting in the chair and reading some papers. He is not surprised to see Dio.

Amanda Waller, a black woman with a hundred kilograms of short, curly black hair, earrings, and a pearl necklace.

The way she dressed—a white shirt, a pink coat, and a black skirt—made her look like a suburban mom, but she wasn't.

"You're late; a few seconds earlier, and you would have met, and we could have avoided a double conversation on the same subject."

Amanda said that and lifted a sheet of paper without looking at him.

"Batman was here?"

Dio asked.

"Yes, and he already gave me the talk, 'don't hurt the kids,' so since what you're going to do now has already been done, why don't we speed this up, and you can leave?"

Amanda explained.

They sent not-so-complete reports to the League, but the world's greatest detective had no trouble assembling all the clues and taking a step ahead of him.

"I came for two reasons, actually, but you got the first one right."

Dio told the truth.

"Oh, two reasons, you say."

It seems he caught her attention.

Amanda put the papers on the table and turned the chair to face him.

"Good intimidating eyes, not inferior to Batman's."

Amanda remarked boldly while looking directly into his eyes.

Dio didn't take it as an offense.

Amanda didn't seem to be scared of much these days, and maybe even the thought of dying soon wouldn't make her tremble.

However, everyone has their weaknesses; she and he both have weaknesses.

"As I said, I come for two things; one is to retrieve something of mine."

Dio said.

The shadow beneath her started to move like a sticky black liquid that rose up from his body while transforming into a cloak made of pure darkness and smoke.

The long cloak covered his entire body and spread across the floor while leaving only his face exposed.

"You've been watching us since Major went to the Tower!"

Amanda understood everything.

"Yes."

Dio didn't deny.

"Impressive, you're clearly smarter than our files indicate."

"The second thing is a message, the content of which you probably already know."

Dio continued.

"I've already said, Batman gave me that talk."

"Your objectives for all this chaos were to try to recruit Rose, perhaps even infiltrate her into our group so that, with the help of her father, you could eventually take us down."

"And it would have worked if it weren't for my mistake. I underestimated the girl and sent some agents to bring her to me. I should have spoken with her personally while slowly pulling her to my side."

Amanda shook her head and regretted missing a good opportunity.

"Can I know why? I highly doubt our little kid's League would require so much effort."

Dio had an idea why, but it's good to have confirmation.

"That might have been true, but after the little war in Gotham and your friends' adventures in recent years, everything points to some of you becoming more problematic than some members of the League, who can be managed."

Amanda spoke the last word as if she had complete control over the world's most powerful heroes.

"So, you took the initiative and made a precautionary plan?"

"Yes."

Amanda confirmed.

The plan went wrong, but she managed to turn Deathstroke against them, which can be considered a win for her.

"To be honest, I don't care about your containment plans. I was expecting this, and it would be a bit degrading if there weren't plans to deal with me. That wasn't your mistake; it was the mistake that made me come here personally."

"Was it because Major threatened your family?"

Amanda asked.

"Correct."

"So, what do we do now?"

Amanda asked and stood up.

She walked around the table and went to the chair in front of her, then sat.

"Not a promise, a certainty!"

Dio emphasized that.

"Funny, what can you do to me with certainty?"

Amanda asked with a hint of arrogance in her voice.

Dio didn't respond immediately.

He teleported to her side and made her give a small jump from the chair, which she hid very well, but he could already hear her heart racing.

Dio crouched down and looked into her eyes, which showed no sign of fear.

"Mrs. Waller, I am the son of the underworld. I can summon right now every person who died by your orders or at your hands. I can read their memories to look for evidence, and throw everything into the blender. I can also curse you and your family to see and feel everything they felt forever. Would you like that? Does your daughter, Odalys Valdez, need to suffer because of you?"

"HOW DO YOU KNOW HER NAME!"

Amanda shouted and stood up, fueled by pure rage as Dio stepped back to avoid hitting her face.

This was a dangerous and somewhat unethical move.

Amanda Waller placed great importance on her children and lost two of them to the streets.

She tried to hide them after becoming a politician.

Therefore, Dio's easily mentioning one of their names caught her off guard.

It was an action unworthy of a hero on his part, but she knew the name of his sister.

How did he find this out?

Dio simply made a small guess, and he obtained enough information to summon the soul of a relative and see their memories from that.

"I've already said I am the son of the underworld. It was easy to find this out."

Dio calmly told her.

"If you do anything to her, I will turn your life into hell!"

Amanda shouted and pointed her finger at his face.

Another reason why this strategy is so dangerous is that this woman is undoubtedly one of the most powerful and dangerous people on Earth.

Amanda is the closest DC has to the biblical devil.

A woman who won't hesitate to slaughter innocents, whether from her own country or others to fulfill her mission and ensure that her nation stands or to keep it clean.

"You know my family's name, so why can't I know yours? That way, we're even."

Dio continued calmly while looking at her.

She continued to point her finger at his face while almost panting with anger.

"I really don't care if you try to kill me or plan it. That's one of the costs I accepted when I became a hero. But there is a line, Mrs. Waller, and on the other side of it are my family and my friends. As long as that line is not crossed, there are still rules for me."

Dio didn't wait for her to say anything more.

He turned and walked to the open window on the other side of the room while letting his new cape drag on the floor.

"All this, just because your sister's name was mentioned!?"

Amanda shouted.

Dio made his cape a bit more chaotic without turning around.

It twists in the air as if it were alive, and it covers the lamp above the room to dim the light a bit.

"Yes, now imagine what I would do if she were hurt!"

Then Dio used his teleportation to exit the room with satisfied with delivering his message.
