Kapitel 29: Discovered

April woke up to the loud banging of a fist against her bedroom door. Both she and Joshy woke up from the ruckus.

"Open the door right now, April!"

The booming voice of Vincent can be heard from the other side of the door. She couldn't believe it, but it was undeniably Vincent's voice, and definitely terribly angry.

"I will open the door if you will stop shouting like a crazy lunatic!"

April shouted bravely, as Joshy hugged her tightly. He was trembling from the perceived anger that Vincent's tone projected.

Joshy was shaking his head repeatedly, to silently protest against April's response to his father, opening the bedroom door.

"Joshua Alexander Johnson, open this door or I will break it!"

Vincent's voice could be heard, a bit calmer but still very imposing.

This time, the banging sound stopped.

There was silence from both sides of the door, waiting for what would happen next.
