Carriesha's palms started to get moist as she awaited her father's response.

"Return before the twentieth. The brother of your future husband will get married so meet him there."

Carriesha's, shaky orbs sharpened and she took the courage to look up at him. "I'm already married father, so please enough with this already," she said with pleading eyes.

But he showed her no pity and turned off the call instead, aware she would come home by herself in a few more days. 

Carriesha scratched the back of her palm and stood to wipe her sweaty hands with a tissue.

Then she removed her makeup in the mirror and washed up before sitting on the one-seater sofa to wait for Luke.

'Why is he so adamant that I marry whoever the guy he was talking about?'

'He said and did nothing when I married Luke, so I thought he was fine with him,' Carriesha thought, aware that the moment she ran away, her father had been aware of where she was and what she was doing.
