Kapitel 153: A raft filled with hopes and nightmares

Making a boat although easy on paper was much more complicated then I thought.

Since something called Buoyancy was the main thing needed to float a boat I had to make a few adjustments to the scarce materials I had.

In hindsight I should've probably made the base of my boat wider since I made it out of stone.

Anyways, feeling my heart filled with a sense of accomplishment I stared at the sorry excuse of a boat.

Made out of lots of flattened wooden planks, the slabs of processed wood were connected to each other through magical means where they made it so that I could tentatively stand on it.

And seeing as it didn't even sink when I pushed it from shore alongside the three double chests lingering on the raft, I would say that it was water worthy.

Whether it was sea worthy was a question for another day, but in the meantime time I should quickly solve the problem that had just popped.

Realising that I wasn't on the boat, with a quick few bounds and leaps that led me plunging just off of the Raft, I clung to the raft as sea water stung my eyes.

"Pah, God damn that is salty."

Feeling my body physically shrivel up in the presence of water I pulled myself out of the sea all dream with sea water and sighed.

'Thankfully I am basically magic otherwise this would get very annoying very quick.'

Lighting my hair up on fire and making it blaze so hard that the upper portion of my body quickly dried I started to go over the earnings of my ventured into the underground.

And since I now had the chance, I really should look at the items in the inventory.

Putting aside the varied assortment of minerals that had been accumulated over the course of an unknown period of time I looked at the weapons.

'...I really should fix the [Twin Scythes] now that I have the time.'

Quickly placing them in the crafting slot in unison with the needed materials to repair their disabilities I continued to roam my eyes onto my inventory.

Swords, spears, bows, arrows and shields you name it, any conceivable weapon in existence that could be crafted quickly and properly had made their way into my inventory.

Especially some of the more esoteric weapons like the Whip, Yo-yo, flail and Scythe made there ways into my inventory.

Thankfully, since the Minecraft inventory allowed item sharing with the Terraria one, there was much more room for manipulation.

The number of different bows in my inventory that had different effects was rather ridiculous though.

'And after briefly using them, I must say that they're not bad'

'Especially the new little bastard moving in my inventory'

Thinking about that I looked at the first new addition into my inventory I had found inside my inventory when I began to craft tools.

[Multiple Nocked Ice bow]

A mouthful to say for sure, but the words in the name left little room for imagination.

When I first found the item calmly nestled in my inventory I was taken back when I saw that instead of just a name, there was a whole description regarding the creation and brief history of the how.

[Once a normal bow briefly given ego through the powers of the Father, this bow couldn't endure the trial of flame it was put through and was burnt in a still born state, thankfully, throufh the induction of it's older brother the stillborn child gave birth to a a brand new weapon carrying both of their characteristics.]

And when I saw that, after briefly reading the description I looked at the long ignored sync rates.

Dead Cells - 95%

This time though, it seemed that instead of the ten percent milestone which unlocked new abilities for me to use like how I got malaise magic at 90% I now unlocked them at 5% increments.

Which only left room for one more milestone at the 100% mark, it probably was me killing the final boss so that was that.

Anyways, going past the multiple nocked ice bow that just had the ability to manifest frozen arrows that froze a much larger area than it's ice bow predecessor but lesser then the awakened form, it was actually more powerful because.

It just had more numbers.

Plain and simple.

Anyways.

Going past the new weapon that came in conjunction with the fragment of Blizzard, I looked at it and read it's description.

[Broken off of a Blizzard Spirit with the power of consuming blood to freeze all it touches this is a fragment of its true self.]

Reading that description I blinked my eyes.

'that really sounds like something I like to use alot doesn't it?'

Quickly opening my Terraria inventory and navigating to the equipment tab, I instantly scrolled past the sparsely equipped Accessory tab and locked onto the Fragment of inferno.

'Yeah... I knew this guy would be here.'

Reading the description which was just a spicy flavored version of the Fragment of Blizzard I had a crazy thought enter my head.

'Now call me crazy but...' I unequipped the Fragment of Inferno and held the fragment of Blizzard in my hands manifesting a mist of frost in one side while a ripple of heat escaped the other.

And wouldn't you know it?

Staring at the icon on the screen which displayed a whole gem which were two parts fire red and two parts ice blue, I grinned.

Right before I was quickly submerged into the ice cold water where I was attacked.

---

"Are we nearing the location First mate?"

A full bearded man leaned over the shoulder of a peg legged portly person who waved the captain away with slight annoyance.

"Well I can't tell if you keep breathing wine onto me, get away from my face please."

"Ok"

Obediently moving away the man quickly took a swig out of one of the many canisters around their body.

The smell of cheap booze intensifying in the enclosed space, the First mates faced became even more flushed as the fumes reached his head.

But, due to a long time exposure to the fumes over the course of several years, the first mate didn't get so drunk as to forget what he was doing.

Although that didn't mean he was doing it well.

"Damn it cap'n you made me drunk and now I'm seeing double."

Waving his hand, the First Mate stared resentfully at Gunpowder Garry who ignored his first mates plight and let out an ear shaking belch.

"Braap, Ugh, You'll do fine Mate, just do that map reading thing you always do and tell me how close do you think we are to the mark on the map?"

"It's called memory Cap, something you'd do good to have"

"What was that?" Sharply looking at his first mate in a slightly drunken stupor, the First mate cursed underneath his breath before answering honestly.

"We're about five nautical miles away from the site on the map" he paused before hesitantly looking at the captain who had somehow manifested a keg of cold beer frkm some place unknown.

"Cap'n"

"Yessss??" Voice slurring near the end, the First mate ignored the drunken habits of the Captain who was currently lying face down on the floor and continued.

"About the map you got from the man."

"Wwwwhat abooout it?"

Turning around a small bottle of wine found itself dripping it's alcohol into his mouth.

"Can it be trusted? I mean, I don't doubt you cap'n, but that guy you got the map from..." The first mate hesitated.

"He ain't normal cap, he's the ghost of Black water and that ain't good news."

"Hmm..."

"Cap'n?"

Turning to look at the captain, the First mate was taken back to see an eerily sober captain nicknamed Gunpowder Garry staring right down his pie hole.

"First mate, how long have we been together."

"Errr... Twenty years now Cap'n?"

"How many times have I saved your life now"

"...53?"

"Would you trust me with your life"

"Yes...?"

"Good."

Turning around, Gunpowder Garry downed a swig of alcohol and opened the door of the cabin, letting out the drunk fumes filling the air.

Feeling the blast of sea air suddenly displacing the fumes in the cabin, the First mate suddenly felt more clear headed

But, it did nothing to solve his questions.

"...Captain"

"What?"

"You didn't answer my questions yet, why do you trust the ghost of Black water?"

"..." Pausing at the edge of the door heading to the deck, the Captain took a brief swift of a wine bottle and looked over his shoulder to stare into the eyes of the First mate.

Beard shaking slightly in the wind, he spoke softly.

"Isn't it simple First mate? If you can trust me with your life, just trust me on this"

Tossing a rounded canister made of metal to the First mate, the Captain left the hold all the while a pair of black eyes which were staring at the duo from the shadows retreated.
