Kapitel 85: Chapter 82

Bahamut's expression remained stoic as he asserted, "It doesn't answer what I'm here for." In response, the Blood Raven admitted, "Bahamut, if I had the answer you seek, I would have already provided it. I am now nothing more than a lie, and I don't possess the answers you are looking for. Forgive me."

Undeterred, Bahamut pressed on, "Even though the future may have changed, the past remains the same and has never been veiled to you. All I want to know is about your Old Gods and who they are." The Blood Raven replied, "All I know is that they represent the pinnacle of intelligent lifeforms who can restrain my power. With a trace of the bloodline of the green men, I cannot unveil their true nature. Anything related to them is beyond my capability."

Seeking further clarity, Bahamut queried, "Why are they threatened by my presence?" The Blood Raven responded, "Because you are an unknown variable.".

Bahamut, still skeptical, asked, "How do you know they are threatened by my presence?" The Blood Raven responded, "Their presence has returned to Westeros again; they are coming for you." In a confident tone, Bahamut declared, "Then I will be waiting for them."

Before leaving, Bahamut, with a swift motion, air-blasted the Children of the Forest, ensuring they wouldn't hinder his actions. Without delay, he touched the weirwood branch, establishing a connection with the strait of the river. As his eyes went blind and his consciousness delved into the sea of time, he began to perceive everything related to him with newfound clarity. His mind embarked on a journey to the past, traversing through civilizations, witnessing their rise and fall, and unraveling the mysteries behind their demise.

The revelations pointed consistently in one direction—the ruins and underground maze of Leng. Suddenly, Bahamut's consciousness returned, only to witness that his intrusion had proven the Three-Eyed Raven's fears true, leading to the Raven's demise. Surrounding him were angry Children of the Forest, singing a song-like chant as they prepared to cast a spell over Bahamut by cutting their arms. Unperturbed, Bahamut declared, "Since that's what you want, let me help you achieve it," before unleashing a massive flame from his mouth toward the remains of the Children of the Forest, showing no mercy. In the next moment, the entire cave was engulfed in flames, annihilating everything in its path. From the fiery chaos, Bahamut ascended into the sky as a dragon.

During this time, the Wildlings, led by Mance Rayder, followed Jon to the Wall, anticipating that Bahamut would uphold his end of the deal. Simultaneously, Bahamut hoped that the Stark's men would reach the Wall before him, sparing him the need to blow down the great Wall and allowing the Wildlings to pass without the stubborn opposition of some Night's Watchmen.

As Bahamut desired, Northerners were already present at the Wall, waiting for the Wildlings' arrival. Despite the dissatisfaction expressed by the Night's Watch regarding the decision to admit the Wildlings, Eddard Stark, known for his steadfastness, remained unperturbed by their objections. Initially, many Northern lords disagreed with Stark's choice to allow the Wildlings into the North, influenced by Old Nan's fairy tales. Nevertheless, their loyalty to their Lord prevailed, and they followed him to the Wall, setting aside their past animosities toward the Wildlings for the time being.

Instead of heading toward the haunted forest to reach the Wall, the Wildlings decided to bypass Craster's Keep. However, upon nearing the area, they heard screams, initially dismissing them as nothing unusual. Yet, as the cries multiplied, Jon sensed something amiss and hurried towards Craster's Keep without hesitation.

As Jon arrived, it became apparent that a conflict had erupted at Craster's Keep. Karl, noticing Jon's approach, put on a fake smile and attempted to feed him a lie about the situation. However, Jon's suspicions deepened when he witnessed a rebel dragging a young woman out of a tent. Attempting to intervene, Jon was forcefully pushed by Karl, prompting Jon to draw his sword in response.

Meanwhile, Wildling wargs, who were observing the events through warging bird, relayed the information to Mance Rayder. Learning of the altercation between Jon and other Night's Watch members, Mance realized he couldn't afford Bahamut's wrath by failing to protect Jon and the dragon entrusted to them. In an effort to assist Jon, Aithusa, the dragon familiar with Jon and Ygritte, was the first to rush towards Craster's Keep. Recognizing the severity of the situation, Mance reluctantly ordered his men to support Jon.
