Stacy was seated on a soft sofa, as round as a ball but surprisingly comfortable.

She leaned back against the wall, letting out a sigh as she watched them mix various concoctions at the far end of the room.

She had no idea what they were, nor did she care much. Her mind wandered, delving into the labyrinth of her thoughts.

Why was Mr. Qin going through all this trouble for her? Did he really have feelings for her? This was the first time she had actually sat down and pondered the possibility.

"No, no way," she muttered to herself, shaking her shoulders irritably. There was no way that cold, icy man would ever fancy her or entertain any feelings for her.

It was absurd to even think about it. He was just fulfilling his duties and adhering to the contract, nothing more.

She nodded to herself, satisfied with this conclusion. Yet, a nagging doubt lingered.
