Kapitel 16: chapter 16- Blaire’s pov

I almost choked on my spit. What did he mean by discussing our mating terms or whatever he said? Is that even possible? I indeed have feelings for Maxwell but I already have a mate as sad as it is.

"Is that even possible? I'm already mated to someone by fate. I don't think anything can alter it." I mean it didn't seem logical.

He smiled; "of course, there is always a way, always a loophole in these things, your mate rejected you and now you've found love. If I claim you before he does you're mine automatically."

'Rejected' that word seemed a little too strong for me, I felt a sudden sharp stabbing pain in my chest which quickly faded away.

"He hasn't rejected me," I said, my voice a little raised. I took a deep breath and then added. "At least not yet."

"Of course. Yeah. I'm sorry for putting it that way but you know what I mean." He held my hands and came closer.

"So how does all this happen? The mating?" I was curious.
