Recap:
The Justice League arrived in Valhalla, armed with special suits and a solid strategy to stop and cut the divine threat of the gods in the bud. However, upon their arrival, they saw that it would not be as easy as they had thought.
Ares had tricked the gods into eating a forbidden fruit. A fruit, the characteristics of which caused the gods to be mind-controlled through a divine command.
However, all was not lost. The League was prepared to fight with all their power and their new knowledge and defeat, or, if there was no choice, kill these beings that threatened the peace of the world. But they had to act fast, for Ares had erected a defensive dome that prevented them from reaching him.
Ares, undisturbed and untroubled, had activated the ritual to become a multiversal being and thus the supreme being of Earth. The clock was ticking. The Justice League would either overcome this obstacle or Ares would succeed...

----------
Main battlefield
The city of Valhalla had become a bloody field. Gods, beings of divine power who had been rulers of Earth in their days of yore versus the Justice League, supermen who many considered gods among men.
The sky had clouded over and the city had turned gray. Blood, mostly of the heroes, was beginning to spill across the battlefield. But no one was faltering. They were all giving their all to win their fight. They were pouring every ounce of their effort and sweat in order to defeat their opponent.
The Earth depended on them doing it.....
One would think that the gods had home advantage and no power restraints, but, surprisingly, this was not true.
The heroes were proving that, despite the unfavorable statistics in their favor, they could rival on par and, in certain cases, even surpass their opponent. They hadn't trained for nothing. And the suits, made of the new material Ryan Choi had fabricated, were proving to be effective. The attacks damaged and hurt, but they were not deadly as they should have been.
The heroes, to everyone's surprise, were matching the gods.
As stated earlier, there were cases where even the heroes outclassed the gods....
(AN: I'm not going to focus on all the fights. It would take me many chapters to do so and besides it's not that necessary. I will only focus on the main ones)

Superman vs Nüwa
Superman was traveling at full speed through the gray sky of the city of the gods. His speed was such that only a blue and red blur could be seen across the sky. And he was not slowing down. On the contrary, he was accelerating faster and faster as he approached his target.
A few meters away, a beautiful red-haired woman was floating impassively. The wind seemed to have no effect on her. On the contrary, it seemed as if the wind was lulling her, caressing her features gently like a lover, as if heaven itself was prostrating itself at her feet adoring her.
Nüwa, the sky goddess of Chinese mythology lay there, impassive, unresponsive to the impending attack approaching her.
She was normally arrogant and haughty. And she had reason to be. She was powerful, VERY powerful. Of the group, Batman had ranked her in the top 3 of the most powerful in the group of gods, even surpassing Ares in power. And that was why Superman had been tasked with confronting her.
This time, however, she showed no feelings. There was no happiness or fury. There was no reaction or flight. She looked like an immaculate doll. But that only worried Superman more. This time he was going all out from the start. Without feeling out his opponent.
Superman came at full speed and threw a punch with great power towards the beautiful red-haired woman who had a dead look on her face, the result of Ares' brainwashing.
The force of the blow was such that it could easily knock down any opponent he had previously faced. Superman was certainly not holding back one bit as he normally did. Clark knew that, if he connected that punch, it would be serious damage against his opponent and possibility of a quick victory.
However, just as he was about to connect Nüwa's face, a sound like glass shattering was clearly heard in the same wind that made the punch stop dead in its tracks.
The speed of the punch, almost reaching the speed of light, had slowed down completely without connecting to his opponent. Superman's fist was not meters, but mere millimeters from the woman's face almost grazing her, but not touching her completely.
Worst of all, Clark was trying to move further, but couldn't. His arm was shaking. His arm was trembling. His veins were pronounced from the force. But he could go no further. There, finally Nüwa showed an emotion. She turned her head to look at Clark, and uttered.
"Ha" with a smirk.
'Shit' Clark thought as he felt it. As if the wind itself rejected him, an invisible force acted against him.
With the same sound of glass shattering, Clark was pulled with a force similar or greater than his punch backwards, sending him flying away to crash to the ground. Now the same blue and red projectile could be seen heading like a meteorite towards the ground with no chance of slowing down.
Good thing he went to crash where there were none of the other opponents, since the fall had been such that the ground had rumbled and a huge crater had formed.
However, if she thought this was enough to defeat him, she was sorely mistaken. Clark got up after a couple of seconds, only with a bit of dirt on his suit. Shaking off his shoulder, he saw how his new suit was still intact. On the contrary, he felt how the kinetic energy seemed to repair it and give it superior power and toughness.
'The suit is working better than expected. Bruce should be internally jumping with excitement that his theory was correct. The divine energy instead of damaging the suit seems to charge it up to give it greater toughness, turning our suit into a kind of completely indestructible armor. Now I'm even more relieved for my teammates who have no healing factor or resistance powers' thought Superman.
He could see at the molecular level the fibers of the suit. They worked in such a way that the divine power, instead of damaging him, made him more resistant. This was a relief to him as a part of him was worried about his teammates.
In the old fight against The Light, many of his teammates, NO, of his friends, had perished. And this fight was just as, if not more dangerous than the last one. The last thing he wanted was to see his friends perish again for the duty of a hero. A noble duty, but a dangerous one.
At least this gave him confidence that the fight would be close. It was still dangerous. But Clark was more confident and could focus on how to defeat his opponent without worry.
"Now, let's see how to defeat her..." he muttered.
Ever since he was young and started flying in the sky practicing with his powers, Clark had always felt like the lord and master of the sky. The sky was his ally. It relaxed him. When he was stressed he would fly into space or even to the moon. But this time it was different...
The sky seemed to hate him. The wind was rebelling against him. For the first time, Clark felt insecure about flying.
He felt it. When he flew, the sky seemed to slow him down. It was slower than it should be. And when he attacked it. The wind moved against him like a repelling force. As if…
"I know what to do"
Superman flew again at full speed. Nüwa remained motionless and unresponsive, with that dead stare that sent shivers down the spine. However, just as Superman came within mere inches of the goddess, he slowed down completely and with a surprise attack, launched an icy breath towards the woman.
The breath did not reach Nüwa, as again the wind again stopped the attack, but Superman wanted this.
Superman was generating a breath at an almost absolute zero level, stopping the molecules of the wind itself. The atmosphere seemed to freeze, revealing a dome covering the woman. However, with the wind stopped, Superman had a chance to attack.
"Gotcha"
With the same force, but perhaps less power he struck the goddess again. This time, he was able to connect straight in her face, sending her flying. Now, the projectile was her. As Nüwa flew away, the wind itself became neutral. No masters to control it. Superman had level ground again.
However, he couldn't even rest for a couple of seconds, when suddenly a loud "HOW DARE YOU!" was heard.
From the crater generated by her, a gigantic being emerged. An oriental red dragon about 10 meters long came out with unparalleled fury. Her fangs, so large and sharp, and her scales as tough as metal itself made her look utterly menacing.
"HOW DARE YOU DARE TO HIT ME, THE GREAT NÜWA, QUEEN OF THE EAST WINDS AND PRINCESS OF THE JADE PALACE" the dragon's mouth did not move, but Nüwa's voice echoed throughout the battlefield.
However, Superman did not focus on her threat. Instead, he saw with his supervision that Nüwa's gaze was different. Not only because it had changed to that of a dragon, but it looked like she had a conscience. That SHE was the one talking.
In short, Superman had realized that she was conscious. However, as if a divine power acted upon her, her gaze returned to a dull one. Nüwa internally was there. Superman wanted to save her. He was sure that, if she came to her senses, this fight would end. First, however, he would have to stop her. And now everything had become complicated
Nüwa, in her dragon form, charged her power and attacked with a mighty breath of fire. Superman countered with his own heat vision.
The sky no longer looked gray, it was now red as a result of the light show that was brewing....
