The daylight, somewhat dimmed by the clouds that shrouded Loguetown, faintly illuminated Satoru. He firmly planted his foot on the face of the Captain of the Black Harpoon Pirates, Kenji, asserting his dominance. Around, bystanders and pirates watched the scene in disbelief.
From a distance, a man in a pristine white uniform observed with a piercing gaze. It was Navy Captain Kaito, impeccable in his naval attire, with gleaming medals and navy-blue hair slicked back.
Satoru felt a sudden urgency. He needed to leave the island. He glanced toward the horizon, spotting the masts of the anchored ships. He had an epiphany.
His goal: seize the ship of the Black Harpoon Pirates and set sail.
The abrupt blaring of trumpets interrupted his thoughts. Armed sailors surrounded the area, and Satoru realized the situation had escalated. "Time to retreat," he thought.
Turning to the closest sailors, he shouted mockingly, "Always late to the party, aren't you?". Mai, sensing the tension, readied herself for battle beside him. He then turned to the goblins and Mai, "To the ship. Quickly!"
Running, fighting and fighting our way towards the docks, the goblins were taken down one by one by the sailors' gunshots. Satoru's heart clenched at the sight of the slaughter. The efficacy of his Akuma no Mi seemed limited compared to Big Mom's power, capable of imbuing objects with intact emotions.
Yet, Satoru didn't let despair get to him. His mind was set on escape. Even seeing his goblins fall, he kept running, ignoring the screams and the chaos.
Out of nowhere, an attack descended upon Satoru. Navy Captain Kaito, with his flaming sword, charged at him. Narrowly, Satoru dodged, feeling the blade's heat as it whooshed by. A grin formed on his lips. "This is fun," he exclaimed, reveling in the moment's adrenaline.
Captain Kaito, eyes blazing with anger, shouted, "Do you think you can escape the Navy's justice, pirate?!"
Satoru, with a defiant smile, retorted, "Justice? Since when does the Navy know what that is?"
Captain Kaito raised his hand, and a rain of daggers hurtled towards Satoru and Mai. Mai swiftly pulled Satoru aside, dodging the daggers that embedded in the ground.
Mai threw a smoke bomb on the ground. A dense mist filled the air in seconds, blinding everyone's view. "Let's go!" she yelled, pulling Satoru by the hand.
Using the smoke as cover, the duo swiftly moved through the streets toward the Black Harpoon Pirates' ship. Satoru cast one last look at the scene of their confrontation, knowing that this battle with the Navy was only the beginning of many more to come on his journey.
