Kapitel 144: Bringing A Bow to the Sword Fight

The fifteenth day of battle began as the general of the Samara-Kairuku Coalition army ordered his men to start attacking again.

However, this time, they didn't have to force the matter because as long as they advanced steadily while waiting for the hidden strike force to attack the Rougenfortians from behind, then they would easily take down the fort no matter how strong and skilled the Rougenfort Kingdom's military leaders were.

All seven Swordmasters of the Samara-Kairuku Coalition Army were honestly shocked after engaging in an all-out battle against the three Swordmasters from Rougenfort Kingdom.

They were used to easily defeating the enemy Swordmaster using superior numbers but this time, they couldn't take them down even after six hours of continuous battle and there were even a few times when some of them almost lost their lives.

Today, they shall try to attack the Rougenfortians again.

The general of the Samara-Kairuku Coalition Army used the same tactics as yesterday in hopes of finally bringing down at least one enemy Swordmaster today.

If they manage to slay at least one Swordmaster, then the battle should tilt heavily in their favor.

*CLANG* *CLANG* *CLANG* *CLANG* *CLANG*

Swords clashed as Alexander and Blanc fought two Swordmasters each while Helena fought against three.

Fortunately, this time, they had Eden who continuously fired arrows from behind them.

"Heh! Quit dreaming! A single skilled archer wouldn't be able to turn this battle into your fav–?!"

*SPURT*

An arrow coated in green arrow intent suddenly flew past an enemy Swordmaster's body bringing with it a small chunk of flesh and blood from the left side of the Swordmaster's body.

"Aghk!"

The Swordmaster couldn't help but groan loudly in pain after being hit by Eden's arrow.

All seven Swordmasters from the Samara-Kairuku Coalition Army observed the seemingly skilled but ordinary archer behind the enemy's swordmasters and upon seeing that he was only firing accurate but ordinary arrows, they breathed a sigh of relief.

Although the arrows were indeed a nuisance and managed to save the enemy swordmasters from disadvantageous positions from time to time, the arrows weren't a threat to them.

So when Eden suddenly imbued his arrow with Sword intent, a Swordmaster from the Samara-Kairuku Coalition army who was attacking Alexander was caught off-guard.

"Ranger!"

The enemy Swordmasters finally stopped underestimating Eden upon realizing that he was a Ranger.

The skirmish between military leaders then continued after the wounded Swordmaster drank a health potion.

However, this time, the enemy Swordmasters didn't attack recklessly. They remained vigilant as they carefully dodged Eden's arrows while trying to take down the Swordmasters.

"Tch! This isn't gonna end! We have to take out that Ranger first!"

The general of the coalition army clicked his tongue in annoyance.

Yesterday, even though they weren't able to finish off even a single Swordmaster from the Rougenfort Kingdom, they undoubtedly had the advantage.

But today, this Ranger suddenly appeared out of nowhere and gave them a huge headache. Not only were they unable to get the advantage, some of them even fell into disadvantageous positions.

Thus, the general suddenly called for a change in formation. The weaker Swordmasters attacked Alexander while Helena and Blanc handled two Swordmasters each.

Meanwhile, the general himself suddenly charged towards Eden in an attempt to kill him.

Although the other six Swordmasters started to fall into disadvantageous positions, it would be fine as long as their general could finish off the Ranger before they lost their battles.

However, how could Blanc let them outmaneuver him? He also called for a change in formation letting Helena handle four Swordmasters on her own while Blanc himself would cooperate with Eden to try and take down the enemy general.

*CLANG* *CLANG* *CLANG* *CLANG* *CLANG* *CLANG*

Chaos ensued as the balance between the two sides was suddenly broken by the change in formations. Helena almost lost one of her arms while Blanc almost cut off the enemy general's head but fell short at the last moment.

Due to this, the enemy general broke out into a cold sweat.

"Shit…That was close…I shouldn't risk too much in a chaotic battle like this. When the hell would the Gunther's hidden strike force arrive?!"

The enemy general complained.

Whilst he was in the middle of deciding whether they should retreat or continue engaging in this skirmish, a warhorn sounded from behind the walls of Fort Shadowsong.

*HOOOONGGG*

"You've finally arrived! Gunther!"

The enemy general said with a wide smile as a small but elite army wearing the armor and bearing the flag of the Samara Kingdom marched towards Fort Shadowsong from the direction of Blasridge City.

"Retreat! Back to the walls!"

After seeing the Samaran hidden strike force marching behind them, Blanc immediately called for a retreat.

"HAHAHAHAHA! You gave us trouble, but in the end, we still succeeded in taking down the fort!"

The enemy general loudly declared in a loud voice.

As for the Samara-Kairuku Coalition Army, they erupted in cheers while their morale surged as high as the skies.
