Winter faded into spring, with days slipping by like a gentle stream.
White dew had just passed, heralding cooler weather and refreshing breezes.
Today was the enrollment day for new students at Benefit University.
Sheila Cook huffed and puffed as she pulled her suitcase out of the trunk, declining any help from the secretary.
"From now on, I want to breathe free air. None of you are to help me. Oh, and Mr. Philbert, tell my father that I've grown up. I'm ready to be independent, so he shouldn't treat me as a child any longer."
Ignoring the helplessness in Mr. Philbert's eyes, she dragged her suitcase off towards the university entrance.
There were volunteers at the entrance to usher in the new students, and Sheila was stopped by a boy with golden-rimmed glasses as soon as she approached.
The boy, Ethan Taylor, had a refined aura and a warm smile. "Which department are you enrolled in, Miss? I can take you to the coordinator."
