Kapitel 477: Arkhan vs Quetzalcoatl

"Ahh, it seems you've seen through my little scheme... It's a bit embarrassing."

Quetzalcoatl admitted with a helpless shrug, though her eyes sparkled with excitement.

"So, what do you plan to do, human with dragon blood?"

"Since courage and determination can't be proven with words alone..." Arkhan said calmly as a white lance appeared in his hand and black dragon wings unfurled behind him. "Let's settle this with a soul-wagering battle."

"Oh my! That's quite an interesting resolution. You've completely hit the mark with me!" Quetzalcoatl laughed heartily. "But are you sure? Let me warn you, this time I won't be holding back at all, you know?"

"Gods are powerful, but don't underestimate humans." Arkhan raised his white lance, pointing it at the goddess from afar. "I'll prove to you just how high humans can reach."

*Ba-dump!* *Ba-dump!* *Ba-dump!*

As the sound of his heartbeat echoed like a beating drum, magical energy surged like a roaring river, flowing through every of his limb. At the same time, black dragon scales covered his body like sturdy armor, causing his body temperature to rise sharply.

In just an instant, Arkhan adjusted his body to its peak state.

He watched Quetzalcoatl intently, not daring to let his guard down for even a second.

Known as the Feathered Serpent God, Quetzalcoatl held a significant place in Aztec mythology, as even those unfamiliar with this mythology had likely heard her name.

This alone was a testament to Quetzalcoatl's immense fame.

Even thousands of years later, her pyramid still stood tall on the earth, showcasing the ancient wisdom and the reverence and faith of the ancient people for this great god.

In mythology, this god presided over numerous domains—wind, rain, arts, cultures, knowledge, learning, life, and so on. In fact, there were thousands of myths associated with her, making her a highly prominent god.

Although the goddess before him was merely a facet of her true form, the overwhelming fame she enjoyed allowed her to receive substantial power enhancements upon manifesting into the world of mortals, making her far stronger than ordinary gods.

If Quetzalcoatl were to get serious, her destructive power could surpass even that of the Goddess of Demonic Beasts, Gorgon.

For Arkhan, this was going to be a tough battle.

However, he couldn't afford to retreat.

"Quite the spirit you have there. It's rare for me to feel this excited!" Quetzalcoatl's emerald eyes glinted with a hint of amusement. "Well then, here I come!"

*Whoosh!*

She adjusted her stance slightly before her body shot forward like a cannonball, launching a seemingly delicate fist that carried a terrifying force capable of shattering city walls.

Just as she said, this time she was serious.

"Fall back, all of you." Arkhan warned those behind him and gripped Abyss Flower tightly, meeting her head-on with equal determination.

Seeing his intention, Quetzalcoatl was momentarily surprised, then burst into laughter, swinging her iron fist at the cold shaft of the lance.

*BOOOOOM—!!!*

The clash between flesh and cold steel caused an explosion-like effect, and their immense forces triggered a shockwave that rapidly spread outward, cracking the ground within a few meters like a spider's web at the point of impact.

Seeing this, Morgan raised her eyebrow and snapped her fingers lightly. In the next moment, the cracked ground was restored, and its hardness increased significantly.

"Oh? Have you transformed the entire city into a Temple Territory? You must have an incredible mage here." Quetzalcoatl remarked, her intrigued gaze shifting to Morgan, who was clad in a black and blue dress.

"Getting distracted in battle isn't a good habit, Quetzalcoatl." Arkhan interjected, thrusting his lance straight at the goddess's head.

"Little Brother, you're quite strong. You might be a good candidate for wrestling." Quetzalcoatl countered, throwing a powerful punch.

*BOOOM!*

The force of the wind from her punch tore through the air, clashing with Arkhan's lance with a deep, drum-like resonance.

"If there's a chance later, I'll ask for your guidance then." Arkhan replied calmly, swinging his empty hand.

Soon, the Oath of Judah whistled through the air, and several golden spears, linked by chains, flew toward Quetzalcoatl like dragons.

Quetzalcoatl's divine intuition warned her that these spears and chains were not as simple as they seemed. Believing her intuition, instead of meeting the attack head-on, she chose to evade.

Her body moved with unbelievable flexibility, dodging the golden spears and chains with a series of fluid motions that made her seem like a nimble feathered serpent dancing gracefully.

Witnessing this, Arkhan was momentarily stunned.

Since acquiring the Oath of Judah, he had never seen anyone dodge its attacks in such a manner.

"Little Brother, you have a lot of Noble Phantasms, but relying too much on weapons isn't a good thing. I prefer the feel of hand-to-hand combat."

After saying that, Quetzalcoatl seized an opening in Arkhan's attack by suddenly closing the distance between them and punching him in the chest.

*BANG!*

Arkhan felt like he had been hit by a dragon as he was sent flying back dozens of meters, his legs carving deep furrows in the ground.

*Cough!*

As Arkhan spat out a mouthful of blood, he immediately used the power of Abyss Flower to heal his injuries.

Wiping the blood from the corner of his mouth, Arkhan glanced at the fist mark on his silver armor, causing his mouth to twitch.

It was hard to believe that a single punch could nearly incapacitate him who was using the Black Dragon Body.

A goddess specialized in close combat was truly frightening.

"Recovering so quickly after taking my punch?" Quetzalcoatl was slightly surprised but quickly grew excited. "Well, this makes it more fun! Finally, I can fight to my heart's content!"

After all, what could be more exciting than an unbreakable opponent for a wrestler?

However, Arkhan wasn't going to give her another chance.

Although his physical strength was on par with Quetzalcoatl, his hand-to-hand combat skills were no match for her wrestling skills since he hadn't trained in such martial arts.

"Star of Eden!"

A deep red sphere instantly materialized out of thin air and released an immense, mountain-like pressure on Quetzalcoatl, slowing her down significantly.

With another wave of his hand, Arkhan sent the Oath of Judah's golden spears flying, piercing through Quetzalcoatl's limbs and immobilizing her. In the next second, the power of 'Binding' spread through her body, and she could feel her magical energy rapidly waning.

"Finished, Quetzalcoatl." Arkhan said, inwardly letting out a sigh.

"Finished you say? How can that be? I haven't used my full strength yet." Quetzalcoatl's lips curled into a strange smile.
