Kapitel 476: Quetzalcoatl

As Arkhan and the others made their way to the source of the commotion, the surrounding civilians and soldiers quickly withdrew three blocks away, following Siduri's instructions.

In the face of a god, numbers were utterly meaningless.

"Oh my, seems like some extraordinary guests have arrived."

Quetzalcoatl, standing about a hundred meters away from Arkhan and the others, tilted her head sideways as she spoke at them.

"This is Uruk. If we're talking about guests, it should be you, Quetzalcoatl." Arkhan responded calmly.

"Ahh, you're right. Sorry, sorry, I get so excited sometimes that I tend to forget such things, heehee~" Quetzalcoatl scratched her head, showing a carefree smile.

It was hard to imagine anyone could smile like that after killing a hundred people as if she had merely swatted a hundred insignificant flies.

As Arkhan had said, this was the difference between gods and mortals.

Their way of thinking was loftier and more unconstrained.

"Goddess Quetzalcoatl, why did you come to Uruk, and why are you killing our people?" Siduri stepped forward, eyes fixed on the goddess figure. "We have never shown you any disrespect!"

"Ohh, you must be Siduri, the chief priestess of Uruk. I've heard about you." Quetzalcoatl looked Siduri up and down, her eyes suddenly sparkling. "Indeed, you are as beautiful as a gem, and that gaze of yours really hits my sweet spot. Alright, how about this, If you're willing to become my priestess, I might consider switching sides. How does that sound?"

Upon hearing that, Siduri was stunned.

She, converting her faith and serving a foreign god?

Impossible!

"I also heard that your king is quite handsome. If he's willing to marry me, I might reconsider, y'know..." Quetzalcoatl said, tapping her chin thoughtfully.

Kingu, who had been stealthily observing the situation from their room, felt a sudden surge of irritation upon hearing Quetzalcoatl's words, along with an inexplicable urge to punch someone.

"What a shameless goddess..."

Kingu muttered under their breath, unsure if it was because of Quetzalcoatl's whimsical attitude or her outrageous proposal.

"Marry His Majesty!?" Siduri's eyes widened in shock before shaking her head vehemently. "That's impossible! Absolutely impossible!"

"You seem a bit agitated, young lady..." Quetzalcoatl remarked with a smirk, spreading her hands. "But I'm afraid such childish demands don't quite suit my status. So, let's get back to the main topic. You asked why I want to destroy Uruk, right?"

She paused and glanced around, seemingly looking for something to sit on. As she couldn't find anything, she continued standing.

"Because I was sent here specifically to destroy humanity."

"Sent to destroy humanity?" Siduri was slightly taken aback.

"But how I do it is up to me, no? And my answer is—to kill them all, one by one, carefully!"

Quetzalcoatl wore a sinister grin as she said that, causing Siduri to instinctively take a step back in fear.

However, Quetzalcoatl quickly reined in her menacing expression, switching back to her previous gentle and harmless demeanor so swiftly that it made one question their own eyes.

"Don't worry though. I'll be leaving soon. I only fight with a hundred people a day. Once I reach that number, I'll ignore the rest."

After saying that, Quetzalcoatl whistled, and a pterosaur emerged from the clouds, quickly descending to the ground.

"Well then, everyone, goodbye for now. At this time tomorrow, I'll come to challenge another hundred people again. Bye-Bye~"

Quetzalcoatl waved her hand and, with a light step, leaped several dozen meters into the air, landing on the pterosaur's back.

However, just as the pterosaur was about to take off, a powerful and domineering aura swept through the area, causing the pterosaur to screech in terror and plummet uncontrollably toward the ground like a headless fly.

"Really?" Quetzalcoatl raised an eyebrow and released her aura, finally calming the pterosaur.

She turned her head and looked down, observing a young man with black hair below.

"Guests are guests. You haven't even experienced Uruk's hospitality yet, so how can you leave so easily?" Arkhan lifted his head, his cold black dragon eyes fixed on the goddess high above.

"A rather high-rank dragon bloodline, huh? It seems, little brother, your origins aren't simple, huh..."

Quetzalcoatl jumped off the pterosaur's back, looking at Arkhan with interest.

"As I said, I only accept a hundred challengers a day. Any more than that... I might get a little angry, y'know."

A fierce aura suddenly erupted from Quetzalcoatl's body as her usual playful smile appeared on her face.

However, despite being stared down by a goddess with such an aggressive gaze, Arkhan's expression remained calm.

"If your goal is truly to destroy humanity, why set a limit of a hundred people a day? And why resurrect them after killing them? Quetzalcoatl, are you really planning to destroy humanity?"

Upon hearing his words, Quetzalcoatl's eyes flickered slightly and didn't answer as decisively as she did with Siduri this time.

"I know, I know!"

A stranger's voice suddenly broke in.

"Who's speaking?"

Everyone was taken aback.

*Whoosh!*

In the next moment, a figure suddenly darted out from the shadows of the street. It was a strange woman dressed in a jaguar onesie, carrying a basket several times her size on her back.

Another goddess?

Everyone was amazed.

Although she seemed like a comedic character, she exuded a clear divinity.

"Kuku, she's doing something like this because she has a principle! If someone challenges her with a resolve to die, she'll give it her all. But if they aren't ready, she'll spare them!"

With hands on hips, the goddess in a jaguar onesie stated, looking proud.

"Kuku? To call Goddess Quetzalcoatl like that, you must be another American god." Merlin mused.

"Jaguar, you're talking too much. Have you finished what I asked you to do?" Quetzalcoatl said in a sinister tone.

Jaguarman, the goddess in a jaguar onesie, shuddered as she heard Quetzalcoatl's words.

"Sorry, I'll leave right away!"

She quickly ran off, not forgetting to toss the nearby dead humans into her basket, sneaking away like a weasel stealing chickens.

"Does this count as kidnapping?" Merlin asked, looking puzzled.

"But they're all already dead." Morgan replied calmly.

Merlin thought for a moment and then nodded in agreement.

"That's true."

Two non-humans had reached a rare consensus on whether the dead had human rights.

"So, I think the answer is pretty clear..."

Arkhan spoke to Quetzalcoatl with a calm smile.

"You have no intention of destroying humanity. Challenging a hundred people every day isn't a random thing. Your true goal is to see human resolve and courage. You want to know if, in the face of an unstoppable disaster, humans can still muster the will to fight back."

"You're actually looking for someone—a mortal willing to raise the sword of rebellion against a god. Am I right, Quetzalcoatl?"
