*Rumble—!*
The earth suddenly shook, and countless Phantasmal Species surged out of the city, rushing towards the army of Camelot like a tidal wave.
"They're actually launching an attack? Looks like they don't plan to sit back and wait for death." Arkhan raised an eyebrow and snapped his fingers. "Go, Sir Lamorak."
"Yes, Your Majesty!"
Lamorak mounted his horse, raised his spear, and pointed it forward.
"KNIGHTS, CHARGEEE—!!!"
The knight order of over three hundred clashed with the Phantasmal Species in an instant.
Blood and flesh flew, and the cries were endless.
The Phantasmal Species, usually able to tear five adults into pieces effortlessly, were like fragile wheat under the knights' hands, mowed down in swathes, unable to resist even for a moment.
The faint green patterns on the knights' bodies lit up successively. Their weapons unleashed the power of thunder, fire, ice, and fierce winds, making even mages feel insignificant.
"Is this the legendary knight order?!"
"They say they've received the blessing of the Chosen King, able to wield the power of nature as they like... It seems to be true!"
"They're terrifying. Are they really human?"
People on the royal capital's walls displayed intense horror in their eyes. It was widely known that in a simple power struggle and physical strength, humans couldn't match Phantasmal Species. However, this knight order completely shattered that common sense; they were more Phantasmal than the Phantasmal Species themselves!
"No wonder these people dare to launch a counterattack."
As he watched this scene, the army commander of Kent clutched the wall tightly, his knuckles became pale, and his face darkened.
"Just these Phantasmal Species won't stop them. Use the stronger ones!"
The adjutant beside the commander immediately bent down.
"Yes, Sir!"
The heavy gates slowly opened to the sides, and a series of muscular Chimeras walked out, their three-headed eyes glinting with ferociousness. Additionally, there were some lion-like creatures, dark red all over, with dense and long manes and large fan-like tails.
"Ugallu? Did they resurrect another Phantasmal Species?" Arkhan muttered.
Ugallu was a Phantasmal Species active in the ancient Babylonian region. Although it didn't possess the ability to use fire and poison mist like the Chimera, Ugallu's physical strength was exaggerated. It could withstand rocket attacks and even wrestle with a Dragon.
Countless Chimeras and Ugallus roared thunderously, charging towards Camelot's knights. As they were getting closer, the serpent heads of the Chimeras spewed black poisonous mist at the knights.
Several knights with weapons emitting a faint green light stepped forward, waved their hands, and a violent wind surged, instantly blowing the poisonous mist back. Hundreds of Phantasmal Species that were caught in it were corroded into a puddle of blood.
Hundreds of Ugallus rushed out of the mist, their mane becoming sparse, and many places had corroded wounds emitting blue smoke.
After all, poison was a Chimera's signature move, even Ugallu's body found it challenging to bear directly.
Phantasmal Species, besides having formidable strength, generally had decent intelligence. Before the battle even began, they were inexplicably attacked by their allies. Naturally, the Ugallus were angry. They roared angrily at the Chimeras, and the latter roared back without showing weakness.
Before they could settle their dispute, the air suddenly vibrated. Soon, waves of scorching flames, raging thunder, icy cold streams, and sharp wind blades mercilessly covered the area they were in.
The onslaught lasted for more than ten minutes. When the smoke finally cleared, all that remained was a large pit, charred and scratched, with no trace of Ugallus or Chimeras. They had completely disappeared.
"Damn it!"
The commander pounded the city wall with his fist, his face twisted in a terrifying grimace.
If they couldn't bring down this knight order, not even with the Phantasmal Species from the Age of Gods, it was time to resort to the last option.
"Activate the magic cannons! Blast these bastards into pieces!"
As the royal capital of a kingdom, powerful magical devices like magic cannons were indispensable. Soon, over twenty magic cannons were positioned on the city walls. Fueled by magical energy from the Ley Lines, the muzzles glowed with dazzling white light. With a thunderous roar, massive magical energy beams struck out.
Since the knights' movements were too swift, Kent had to opt for carpet bombing. The magical energy beams thundered onto the ground, creating deep craters. Countless Phantasmal Species howled in agony, their blood and torn entrails covering the earth.
Facing the onslaught of magic cannons, Lamorak remained composed. He raised his spear high, and its tip burst into brilliant purple light. A thunderous beam of lightning struck out, repelling all three magical energy beams coming at him.
Among those holding the Key of Domination, his mastery of it was second only to Arkhan. He could almost fully unleash the Key of Domination's power.
"Unbelievable, this is the power humans can wield..." Thrud mumbled in a daze as she watched the unbelievable scene before her eyes.
Watching this scene, she couldn't help but think of the Valkyries from the past.
"Master, I want to go too." Yulina pleaded, eyes fixed on Arkhan.
For a regular person, witnessing such a brutal battlefield might induce discomfort, but for Yulina, who was a Dead Apostle, it only heightened her bloodlust. After being a bounty hunter for so long, a bit of madness and excitement had seeped into her genes.
She couldn't wait to unleash her skills.
"Go ahead, but be careful." Arkhan nodded.
"Thank you, Master!"
With a beckon, a black scythe adorned with red rose patterns appeared in Yulina's hand. Glancing at her scythe, she headed toward the battlefield without hesitation.
"Are you going too?" Arkhan turned to Thrud.
Thrud hesitated for a moment, her face showing a hint of reluctance. As a warrior maiden born for battle, it was impossible not to be moved by such a scene.
"If you want to go, go ahead. Just remember to protect yourself." Arkhan smiled.
"Understood." Thrud hesitated no more. She clenched her right hand, and the fake Gungnir appeared. The divine iron shield fastened to her left arm, and she quickly flew towards the battlefield.
Yulina swung her scythe, about to behead a Phantasmal Species, when a spear suddenly descended from the sky, impaling the creature.
Looking up, she couldn't contain her anger.
"Damn Bunny! That was my prey!"
"Blame your slowpoke self." Thrud retracted her spear with a sneer.
"What did you say?! Are you provoking me?!"
"So what if I am!"
"Hmph! Whoever kills the most, will have the priority to serve Master!"
"Bring it on! I'm not afraid of you!"
The bet was set, and the two women went instantly berserk, slaughtering Phantasmal Species on the battlefield without mercy.
As he watched another two strong warriors join the war, the commander sighed; he knew it was impossible to drive back Camelot's army with his strength alone.
"At least the message has reached Mercia. If we hold on for three more days, victory will be back in our hands..." The commander muttered with a hopeful tone.
About four hours later, the war concluded, and the land was littered with the corpses of Phantasmal Species. The gushing blood formed winding streams, staining the ground a deep purplish-black.
"How about that, Bunny? I killed 452." Yulina boasted with her head held high.
"Sorry to burst your bubble, I got 453. Just one more than you." Thrud smirked triumphantly. "Looks like I win this time."
Yulina's eyes widened, but just then, the pile of corpses beside them trembled slightly. Suddenly, a Phantasmal Species charged out, its foul-smelling mouth wide open, heading straight for her.
*Swish—!*
A black scythe cut through the air in a graceful arc, and the beast's head flew high, blood spraying like a fountain.
"Now, we're even." Yulina said smugly.
"Your Majesty, it seems like they're not planning to launch an attack on us." Lamorak approached Arkhan and reported.
Arkhan, with arms crossed, gazed at the bounded field shrouding the entire city.
"Can you break through that bounded field?"
"If there's no interference, we might have a chance." Lamorak said, somewhat reluctantly. "But their defense is strong. If we stop moving, those magic cannons will start bombarding us. It's quite troublesome."
"Master, let me handle it!" Yulina proudly patted her chest. "That bounded field can't stop me. Once I get in, I'll destroy the magic formations."
Thrud gritted her teeth. Despite her annoyance at seeing this boastful cow show off in front of her lord, she couldn't break through the bounded field.
'Damn it, if only my powers weren't weakened...' Thrud muttered bitterly inside her mind.
"Do you know how to destroy the magic formation?" Arkhan asked casually.
Yulina's face froze, and she glanced around nervously.
"Well..."
"Well, let me handle it personally." Arkhan stepped forward. "It's a good opportunity to test my new powers."
The power of the wind gathered, lifting him into the air. From there, he looked down upon the royal capital.
He extended his hand, palm facing upward. With a twist in the void, a black-red sphere hovered above his palm.
"The Key of Devouring—Star of Eden."
Arkhan muttered softly and his lips curved slightly as he casually tossed it downward.
"Show me your power."
