Just as Axel and everyone else anticipated, he was left out of the trip to West London to face Brentford.
However, the team didn't miss him in any way, they trashed Brentford five goals to nothing and dominated the match from the first minute to the last minute.
The youngster tried to console himself by believing that Brentford would make things difficult for them and they wouldn't be able to create a lot of chances but things turned out way differently.
He was happy that his team won, anyone would be but the fact that the match turned out to be the perfect match to farm assists and he wasn't able to be part of it sort of rubbed him the wrong way.
He didn't even bother finishing the match and went to bed as soon as Merino scored the fifth goal in the seventy-ninth minute.
Or maybe it was just because he was feeling sleepy after doing nothing but working out the whole day since his knee was starting to feel normal.
Anyway, his day ended with him being upset about his team winning a match he could have been a part of and after a couple of hours, the new day was finally here.
He got up just before his alarm could start that sound that irked him so much and just to save his ears because there was no point anymore, he pushed the button to stop it.
"Oh, a bright new day." He yawned before sitting up on his bed to stretch both of his arms.
After that, he got up on his feet and proceeded to stretch his legs.
"Ah, that feels great." He felt elated as he took a deep breath.
He turned his gaze to the door and was about to start heading toward it when he heard the notification sound of his phone which was on top of the small cupboard beside his bed.
"Oh, yeah." He muttered before he slowly sat down on his and picked up the phone.
It seemed to be one of those useless messages that always popped in from nowhere but just below that was something that had not crossed his mind that morning until that moment.
It was the result of the match last night, and as soon as he spotted it, his face scrunched up into a frown but it didn't take long before that frown turned into a smile.
"So, they weren't able to get a sixth." He muttered before clicking the notification tab to check the details of everything even though he was already aware of how everything played out.
The match was quite the goal fest with Peterson securing a hat trick before any of his teammates could get on the score sheet.
Two of the assists from his goals came from Merino but it could have been a hat trick of assists for the right winger if Peterson had not blasted the low cross from his second goal on one of the defenders before finishing with the rebound.
The fourth goal came from Andrea setting up Tacky with a nice through pass into the box and the striker did not waste the chance.
Then there was the last goal which was just a beautiful goal from Merino, he started the run from about thirty yards out and took on everyone before carefully putting the ball away through the bottom right-hand corner.
It was surprising how Axel didn't jump up from his seat after witnessing a goal like that and just went straight to bed.
Peterson got a hat trick but Merino beat him to get his second man of the match award in a row.
"Ah, I could have at least gotten an assist or two from that match," Axel grumbled before dropping his phone face down on the bed. "Well, I guess there's no point in complaining about it." He sighed before getting up on his feet.
He made his way out of the room to brush his feet before returning to the room to change into his sports gear for his morning exercise.
After that, he slid his legs into his running boots before quickly making his way downstairs.
"Hey, sis." He said before quickly making the turn to the kitchen but he was met with a quiet room and that was when the realization hit him.
'Oh, yeah, she's no longer here.' He said subconsciously.
"I forgot I was living alone now, and it's going to be this way for a while." He sighed before turning his gaze to the living room. "Oh, well, nothing I can do about it."
This was the third day since his sister returned to school and this was the second time he had tricked himself into thinking she was still here taking care of important tasks for him.
"I can't actually be missing her, right?" He shook his head as he slowly opened the door.
The more he tried to feed himself that lie, the more the images of everything they did together on Sunday kept flashing in his mind.
The one that stood out the most to him was the memory of them taking pictures together in a photo booth.
Ariel tried getting him to smile the whole time but he refused to put off his poker face.
He took a step down before slowly pulling his phone out of his pocket to reveal one of those photos which was his wallpaper now.
Ariel was pulling his face from behind to try and force out a smile from him and she was smiling brightly while doing that.
"Why did I even use this as my wallpaper?" He smiled before letting out a sigh.
He kicked off his morning exercise by running on the treadmill for a while, after that, he did a couple of push-ups and sit-ups before working out his arms with the dumbbells.
After that, he went outside to sit under the sun for a while and once he was done with that, he proceeded to make his way back into the house.
Before Tuesday, he didn't have a least favorite part of his day but now he did, and that was making his own food.
"Here we go again." He sighed before making his way to the kitchen.
He made his way to the fridge as soon as he got into the room and after opening it, he began to scan everything with his eyes.
'I tried to make pancakes yesterday and since that didn't turn out well despite following that guide, maybe I should try scrambled eggs today.' He said subconsciously before grabbing the crate of eggs.
After that, he brought out a plate before he picked two eggs and emptied the contents into the plate.
He added a little bit of salt and seasoning next before proceeding to mix everything.
"This should be easy since I've seen Mom and Sis do it a lot of times." He muttered with a proud smile before making his way to the gas cooker.
He froze for a while there before his left hand slowly made its way to his chin.
"Was it oil, butter or did they just pour it in the hot pan like that? It's probably the third option, right?"
