I'd been in and out of consciousness the first day I set off with Simon, exhausted, hungry, and feeling so weak that there was no way I could have marveled over my first experience in a human vehicle. It'd been disappointing really, because I had truly wanted to grasp excitement, but with my head spinning at every smile I attempted to lift, it'd been impossible.
Simon had let me sleep, and we'd arrived at a long and stacked residence called a motel, where numerous tiny homes resided in one large building, hosting many people. I found the concept innovative and endearing: a large community dwelling with one another. However, disappointment slashed my glee upon learning that residents were required to pay for the housing. For in Ophinem, citizens built their own homes, or others were kind enough to build houses for them if they did not know how. In the human world, however, all favors were expected to be exchanged with money.
I really empathize with both Simon and Ruith's sides about this situation! But because I prefer to put others above myself, I would also choose to help as many people I could in the war before running off with my soulmate :(. What would you guys do?
