Rachel's POV

She was about to open up the file she carried with her but halted at my statement. The file was dropped on her lap as her eyes slowly shifted from it to my face. "What do you mean?"

"No, not about Lorenzo," I hastily clarified before she got the wrong idea.

"I know I said I'd support you but don't hit me like that," she exhaled while I chuckled in response. "What wrong choice did you make then?"

"Not telling Mom and Dad about the wedding," I blurted in a sigh, feeling guilty.

"You haven't told them yet?" She gasped and sat forward, her knees inches from brushing mine due to her position.

"What part of my earlier statement don't you understand?" I rolled my eyes and leaned back, my stare diverting to the ceiling.

"Why haven't you?" She interrogated and gave me a smack on the thigh that had me hissing at the sting and facing her.
