"Kate... Don't forget to give the gift to him," I whispered, bringing my lips close to Kate's ear.
"I want to open it!" she murmured.
I grinned, then took a sip of orange juice. "If you dare open it without Roger, you're no longer my friend!"
She immediately looked at me in horror, her lips pouting.
"Darling..." Charlie's voice diverted me. He stood up. "Let's go to our room... There's something I want to tell you."
"Say it with body language!" Roger said with a sly smile.
I swallowed, feeling conflicted in my mind. It seems Roger already knows what we'll do in Charlie's room. Oh, but it's our room; he just mentioned that.
Sometimes it's hard to believe I have a fiancé now, and what's his is mine. I'm wealthy, gaining respect, and everyone is becoming more deferential.
