Kapitel 86: take you into hiding

I ended our kiss after nearly two minutes, and now I want to inform my mother about this good news, but...

"Where's my phone?"

I look at the table, not finding my phone there. "It should be here..."

I stand up, glance around while Charlie also stands, but I can't find my phone.

"Maybe you left it in the room," he suggests.

"No!" I immediately deny. "I distinctly remember placing it here. I used it to call you earlier!" I assert, then bend down to check under the table, still not finding it.

"Darling..." Charlie gently pulls me back up. "You can use my phone to call her."

"But now I'm curious." I look around, trying to recall when I last saw my phone. 'I saw it on the table and didn't pick it up when there was an incoming call. After that, I approached Charlie... I left it on the table. Could someone have sneaked in and taken it? But there's only Renee in here?'
