Kapitel 33: confusion

Upon arriving in the bathroom, I hurriedly contacted my mother via video call, pointing the camera at my face with an outstretched arm while leaning against the wall.

"Mom..." I greeted her, seeing her sitting on a cushion, smiling warmly but with sad eyes and a pale face.

"Sweetie, it seems you just woke up," she said gently, her voice sounding hoarse.

"Yes, Mom, I just woke up, and now I'm in the bathroom," I said, furrowing my brow. Suddenly, I remembered that it must be 3:00 AM there. "Isn't it still too early there? Why are you already awake?"

"Um... I went to bed early, so now I'm awake," she said, smiling. "How about your job there? Have you agreed on how much you'll be getting each month to pay your debt bit by bit?"

I furrowed my brow, now confused because there had been no prior discussion about how much money I would receive while I was here.

"Or maybe he won't pay you at all?" my mother asked again.
