Originally, when Raze had gotten the statue, it had become a sealed item. It was cursed, but once the seal was broken, the item would no longer be cursed.

Similar to Simyon's earring, the curse was more of a simple one. Raze just needed to get the blood of five different people.

Due to the word curse, he thought that something might happen to the five who placed their blood in the statue to unseal it.
