I could not get Malia's words out of my head since the party. It felt like they had been on loop ever since and lived in my mind rent free no matter how much I tried to forget them. The way she looked at me, the love and pure adoration in her face was the biggest knife in the gut. 

There she was putting me on a pedestal and worshipping me like I was some divine being when I was the scum of the earth. Malia would rue the day she met me if she found out I was cheating on her. She would be so crushed that I truly believed she would never want to see me again. 

How could I do something like this to someone I loved? How could I do this to someone who was carrying my baby with the hopes we would one day form our own beautiful family?
