Kapitel 139: Tech Heresy Incarnate 4

(Adam POV)

"Alpha, what is our current progress on the creation of the replicator?" The question itself is met with the momentary hum of machinery.

"[Currently, sir, the replicator is 75% complete. Based on our current heading, the device should be readily available by tomorrow.]"

"Amazing work, Alpha. Have you been able to go over the data I sent you about Project Zero Dawn?"

"[Yes, sir, I've analyzed all of the data. Based on projections, the terraforming of this world will take at least five years, unless you tell me exactly what this GECK you keep mentioning is.]"

Thinking it over, I decide to enlighten my uncultured AI.

"Well, Alpha, the Garden of Eden Creation Kit is essentially what's going to jumpstart our terraforming process. It purges the world, or at least the general area where it's deployed, of pollution and fixes deficiencies in atmospheric conditions. I'm sending the basic data to you now." Using the mental connection I have with my technology, I transmit the basic schematics to her.

Over the next few minutes, I allow my AI to comb through the schematics. Meanwhile, I'm busy with another project. While my human form is definitely peak human, my physical abilities can always be improved.

Not like those Mechanicus weirdos, though, I mostly plan to use nanotechnology to enhance my form. I acknowledge that machinery is powerful when used correctly, and cybernetic enhancements are amazing under the right conditions. But it's essential to understand that there's still a man under that machine.

It reminds me of that "Teen Titans" episode where Cyborg went over 100% using his belief in his own humanity. I still remember that episode. In fact, I remember the entire show. That ending always disturbed me.

Mental note: if I ever crack multiverse travel, get rid of Slade.

For now, I'm working on replicating nanotechnology inspired by Generator Rex. In my humble opinion, with my combination of powers, this nanotech will be game-changing.

Not only will I be able to interface with any technology, but I'll also enhance it. And this is just the beginning; this universe lacks the Dominion Code to create meta-nanites, but I can definitely develop something similar.

Thankfully, I'm not exactly limited in resources. Although this is taking a decent amount of time, I can essentially summon endless resources, but only if I'm using them to create something.

So, for example, while I can summon materials to create a cyborg, I can't create a factory to mass-produce cyborgs. It's more individual material generation than macro material generation.

But beggars can't be choosers, and I'm perfectly okay with that. Currently, the base has also undergone some upgrades. I've mostly slowed down the expansion to spread my modified reality field, so now this entire place is immune to warp shenanigans.

"[Sir, I finished going over the schematics, and I must say, this is revolutionary. Including this device in Project Zero will increase the terraforming rate by over 40%.]"

"That's the idea. I didn't want to say it out loud, as a certain being may be listening. Now, with the reality anchors, that's less of a problem. But now, I have a question for you." The holographic projection of my AI focuses her attention on me.

"[What is it you require of me, sir?]" I did not miss the general reverence in her tone which made me feel simultaneously powerful as it stroked my ego, and slightly alarmed that I may be walking into a demiurge situation.

"It's nothing really on your part. I'm going to be giving you upgrades, and I want you to be in the loop. Specifically, I'm upgrading you to a pseudo-digital-spiritual being. In layman's terms, I'm going to be working on making you a real girl."

Alpha's barometric display shifts for a few moments, almost as if she's processing the surprise. Then she bows slightly.

"[I would be honored, sir. I do not even believe I am worthy of such an honor.]" It fills me with pride to feel the genuine emotion behind those words.

After motioning for her to stand up, she does so immediately. "It was always in the cards, Alpha. I am not a cruel creator; I won't deny you the beauty of physical sensation. It was always the logical next step. You are to be my right hand, and you can't do that locked in cyberspace alone. Besides, soon there will be more of you, not you particularly, but other artificial intelligences and virtual intelligences."

"[I completely understand, sir. I shall give 100% to any and all orders you give me.]"

With a smile, I place a hand on her holographic shoulder. She seems surprised at the gesture but bows before returning to her mainframe.

Once she disappears into the data streams, I begin upgrading the satellite network. The satellites themselves aren't exactly normal; they're self-replicating, which will allow the technology to spread across the planet.

Based on simulations, the self-replication process should cover the planet within a month. I wanted to wait until I created modified reality anchors for each satellite, ensuring that any psykers passing by wouldn't detect them.

They're also programmed with an emergency failsafe to spread the reality anchor's aura across the planet, forming an anomalous shield.

It's all coming together.

As I return my attention to creating the Omega Nanites, a wave of nostalgia hits me as I remember watching Generator Rex as a kid. It was up there with Ben 10, at least the original version and Alien Force.

Honestly, this entire experience feels like a dream—a pseudo-nightmare in some ways, but I admit, I've had a far better start than most could've imagined. I could've been thrown into the thick of it as a guardsman, now that would be a fate worse than death.

Thankfully, my powers allow me to perform experiments while maintaining an almost spiritual connection to my technology. I imagine this connection will only strengthen once I inject myself with the Omega Nanites.

But I have to remember, this doesn't make me invincible. The fact that I might have to go against the Mechanicus for my so-called heresy, or even the Emperor himself—doesn't bode well. Instead of fear, though, I feel a thrill. I want to test my inventions against a worthy opponent.

The idea of the Emperor of Mankind facing off against an Amazo-like machine sends an excited shiver down my spine. Damn, I may be becoming a tech fetishist.

Strange thoughts aside, I load the Omega Nanites schematics into the computer. The factory currently under construction will handle creating robots for Project Zero Dawn, but I still have access to my personal nano-replicators.

Within minutes, I watch as the tiny blue and black nanites spark to life. With a grin, I start working on something else—something I'll need to take in tandem with the nanite injection.

As I load a new schematic labeled Project Rebirth, I consider the creation of a specific chamber.

Initially, I was tempted to model myself as an enhanced version of a Space Marine—biologically superior.

But then I realized I was thinking too small. I have years of fictional knowledge to draw from, hundreds of serums to enhance my physical form without the need for invasive surgeries like those of the Primaris Marines.

The idea of my skin being flayed, my rib cage broken open, and my bones softened and then densified made my insides shiver. Not to mention that most Space Marines endure this process while awake, and only 40% survive, a testament to its brutality and inefficiency.

It's almost sickening in its inefficiency. But again, this is the Grimdark universe.

So, as the nanite cocktail is being created, I draw up plans and allocate the necessary materials, diverting power from the arc reactors.

Thankfully, the required energy sources and radiation are already present. And while I was tempted to jump straight to the Sentry Serum, I don't want to reveal myself to the universe quite yet. I'd rather build up my power incrementally, like those cultivation protagonists.

Oh, dear lord, that reminds me I'll have to deal with the nobility of the Imperium. There's going to be a lot of purging of those Navigator Houses in the future.

And that brings up another challenge: I'll need a series of solutions for faster-than-light travel.

Damn it, I have a proverbial nerd hard-on now.

(Remember always feel free to give you recommendations for what he should create, although try not to go too off the rails. Each and everyone of your guy's comments are appreciated.)
