"Having an overwhelming power is boring as hell"

- Saitama, (One Punch Man)

<(Omniscient POV)>

"General, we urgently require immediate backup. I repeat, General Ross, we need immediate aerial and ground support," the pilot's voice crackled over the comms as he yelled into the radio with urgency and desperation. Yet, there was no response, only silence. Committed to his duty, the pilot remained steadfast, hoping for a reply that never came.

However, much to the disappointment of the soldier, no reply came from the other end of the comm unit, there was only silence. As a loyal and obedient member of the army, he, of course, chose to wait for an order by continuing to stand his ground, believing that backup would soon be provided in due time. But His optimism shattered as the colossal green humanoid continued to wreak havoc by effortlessly flinging a burning Honda towards him, thereby forever removing his chopper from the sky and sealing his fate in an instant. The loyal soldier perished without even having enough time to try and avoid it.

General Ross, on the other side, however, remained silent, despite the pleas of his soldiers for backup and the sounds of combat claiming more and more lives. He had heard many requests of the soldiers under him requesting backup as well as several of them dying under the attack of the so-called monster, but he had no way of actually helping them fight it off because currently, he himself was caught in a profound dilemma.

General Ross didn't have the resources or the budget to deal with this new monster. He had spent almost everything to secure the Hulk. But as for this new monster which was supposed to be even stronger than the Hulk himself, he could no longer do anything.

"General, shouldn't we contact the base for backup? Subject B seems to have completely gone rogue. If we don't stop him now, he will cause more damage to the city than we can handle." A soldier standing beside General Ross who looked like he was his second in command whispered in an urgent voice.

"Has the special unit secured my daughter and Dr. Banner?" Ross calmly asked with a stoic face, not bothering to answer his subordinate's questions. "They should be the priority right now. Civilian rescue operations and subduing the "rogue Subject" should not be our goal. There are plenty of military and defense organizations that can take care of that monster for us. We are the goddamn army, not superheroes or Shield agents. We need to focus on national defense rather than rescue operations and battling monsters, Lieutenant." General Ross uttered without a shred of guilt on his face.

"But wasn't all this caused by us? Wasn't Subject B originally a Special Ops commander under your command general? Whatever he has become, it doesn't change the fact that he is a creation of the army to try and make a super soldier. Even his mutation into this... Abomination is because we failed to contain him and messed up while trying to catch Professor Banner. So shouldn't the army be liable for all the damages that its failed experiment is causing including the loss of so many lives?" The Lieutenant General tried to object to General Ross' orders with a hesitant face as he looked at the destruction the monster was currently causing to the city.

"Liable? You are going to teach me about being fucking liable. Whatever I have done is for the good of this country. The super soldier project is the future of modern weaponry. I am not going to depend on a metal armor made by a goddamn alcoholic playboy to defend this country. We NEED super soldiers and weapons like the Hulk in our army if we want to win against our enemies the next time a World War starts. And I'll do whatever I can to achieve that even if it means sacrificing an entire city. I'll make America great again, no matter the cost, IS THAT CLEAR, Lieutenant?" General Thadeus Ross threatened his second-in-command, his fierce gaze almost digging holes into his subordinate's face as he waited for him to respond.

"... Yes sir..., crystal." The Lieutenant replied even though anybody could guess after seeing his face that he still did not agree with his boss' decision to leave the city and its citizens to their fate. However, as a direct subordinate under the General in the US Army, not agreeing to his direct superior's orders could even be considered an act of treason, a crime that he didn't want to be charged with. So, he just decided to keep his head down and agree to everything the general said.

"But we have clearly learned a lot of things from this experiment for example, we now know that mutant genes are extremely compatible with the super soldier projects. Even though Subject B, or should I say, the Abomination doesn't seem to possess the Hulk's ability to get stronger with rising anger levels, its base strength is still way more than what the Hulk has ever displayed.

The DNA and biomaterials that we previously harvested from the mutant known as the Juggernaut were pretty useful in making Commander Emil Blonsky the perfect Hulk-sized super soldier... although it was rather unfortunate that the mutant escaped before we could experiment further with it." General Ross confessed with a regret-filled voice.

"Anyway, call the chopper, it is time for us to get out of here," Ross commanded after he noticed one of his combat teams bringing his daughter Betty and a restrained Bruce Banner in a semi-conscious state to the helipad where he was waiting with his second-in-command.

"HUUULK, COME AND FIGHT ME. OR ARE YOU AFRAID THAT I AM STRONGER THAN YOU? FIGHT ME AND I WILL PROVE THAT I AM THE STRONGEST IN THE WORLD. FIIIIIGHT MEEEEE" The Abomination which had even started growing bony protrusions from all over his body that seemed to give him an extra layer of armor and defense, yelled from far away while he continued destroying public property to vent his anger and hatred towards Bruce Banner and his alter ego, the Hulk.

A lot of people had already lost their lives to his rampage. But nobody could do anything. Most mortal weapons like bullets seemed to just bounce off his skin while bazookas and rocket launchers were more or less like paper planes to him.

"Get on the chopper. We need to leave. With the data we have, we can always make more soldiers later to counter this failed one." General Ross said with a frown as he directed his surviving men to get on the helicopter along with his daughter and the unconscious Banner.

"You, you have no idea what you did, Dad. You will regret this... All of us will. That type of power is not supposed to be a weapon." Betty Ross, the daughter of General Thadeus Thunderbolt Ross gave her father a disappointed look.

"I never regret my actions," Ross answered. His face had a confident look on it, but he was unable to look directly into his daughter's eyes.

*Zoom* A high-pitched sound suddenly roared over General Ross' head as a flying object raced past him towards the green monster.

"What the hell... wait, was that Ironman?" The Lieutenant General wondered aloud after he finally noticed the easily recognizable red and golden colored humanoid armor that was headed straight for the Abomination.

General Ross, however, wasn't interested in Iron Man. According to him, there was no way that Tony Stark could ever win against beings like the Hulk or Abomination no matter how advanced or developed he could make his suits. His attention was instead focused on the dozen black SUVs that had suddenly stopped near them and were currently monitoring the complex situation.

'Seems that Fury has also mobilized Shield for this. Now, I won't have to handle everything alone. Even if the city gets destroyed while trying to capture Abomination, I can at least try to blame part of it on Shield.' General Ross planned in his mind as he began to take note of the actions that Shield was going to take to try to get the situation back under control.

Tony Stark on the other hand soon reached Abomination with a confident beam on his face. "Iron Man, here to help... Huh, when did Godzilla start taking steroids?" He quipped from under his Ironman armor as he directed both the repulsor beams from his palms at the monster. "Well, I guess I might get to treat Pepper to the biggest sushi in the world after all." Tony sounded extremely self-confident, which could even be called arrogant to some extent.

However much to Tony's surprise, the beams from his repulsors didn't even scratch the outer layer of Abomination's bony armor. In fact, the only reaction the beams could get out of the overgrown monster was an annoyed grumble that made it focus its attention on the flying metal armor that had just tickled him.

"Tony Stark? I am a fan of your work. You make some very good weapons." Emil Blonsky, aka, Abomination said in a heavy and gruff voice as he snickered at Iron Man while baring his yellow teeth.

"Oh, look at that, a fanboy... or should I say a fan fish... get it fan fish, since you look like a walking fish... Anyway, sorry though, I won't be able to give you an autograph. I don't think they allow signed autographs in aquarium jail."

"Your weapons are indeed quite effective, Stark, but ultimately, everything fails in front of true power... *BOOM*" Abomination yelled before bringing his palms together and clapping in the direction of Tony Stark, sending a sonic boom that took the playboy billionaire by surprise, instantly pushing him a mile away from where he was floating in the air.

Not just Iron Man, the sonic clap had also destroyed most of the glass in a mile radius around Abomination, making it clear just how powerful he was quickly becoming.

*Boom Boom Boom Boom* A series of explosions around Abomination suddenly forced him to take a few steps back as Iron Man released all his firepower in one go, almost drowning the monster among countless small missiles. "How you like that, Big-Ears?" He mocked Abomination's fish-like ears.

But none of those explosions were even enough to pierce through Abomination's "bone armor", much less even cause any actual damage to him.

"It tickles." The colossal green giant snorted with a malicious grin before its entire body suddenly began to glow green as light green smoke began to come out of his leather-like skin. Even the temperature around Blonsky began to slowly rise as the uglier version of Hulk started to release raw gamma radiation from his body.

"But now, it's my turn to heat this place up."
