Anna Jadwin remembers this square, when Wayne Bailey proposed to her, there was a VCR...
People from all around the world, holding signs in various languages, proposing to her.
One of the scenes was from this square, with a Spaniard holding up a sign in Spanish.
Anna Jadwin happened to see it, so she remembered—it's the wishing fountain at the center of the square!
A towering, magnificent statue of a man on one knee, holding out a ring, proposing to a woman.
The sculpted figures were lifelike, the man had Wayne Bailey's handsome features, the woman had a voluminous mass of long hair and a petite chin, it was her.
A plaque was engraved underneath the fountain, in Chinese:
Anna Jadwin, will you marry me! — Wayne Bailey.
XXXX year, XX month, XX day.
Tears welled up in Anna Jadwin's eyes, the date carved was from before Wayne Bailey's proposal. That meant the statue existed even before making the VCR, but he never mentioned it.
