Kapitel 3: Chapter 2: The Name Reflects the Body

On the third day since arriving in this world, I've come to understand many things. I decided to sit in the chair I placed by the store's cash register to plan my future course, even though I haven't fully grasped the layout of the books in the shop. I find that I can concentrate better when surrounded by books, so I often sit here when I need to gather my thoughts.

First, when I went to buy food, I heard that the academy had already been established and that the second Hokage had already passed away. The ninja education system was completed by the third Hokage after the second Hokage's death, or something along those lines. In simple terms, the third Hokage is incredible.

Another piece of information I learned related to ninjas is that the third Hokage has taken charge of a team of academy graduates. While it's not confirmed, they will likely become the legendary three ninjas.

I don't know their exact ages, but they were probably in their 50s, so this suggests that the current time is roughly 40 years before the original series.

"It's before the Nine-Tails attack... as expected. I'm going to have to overcome high-risk events now. The Nine-Tails attack was around 10 years before the original series, so it's about 30 years from now. Even though I've been inexplicably made ageless and don't suffer from aging-related combat decline, I could still die from secondary disasters, so I really need to train."

With a deep sigh, I pick up the wristband and leg weights with the character '忍' (ninja) written on them. The wrist weights are 15 kilograms, and the leg weights are 30 kilograms. These weights are incredibly heavy for someone like me who hasn't trained, but I can handle them without being completely immobile, likely due to the strengthening of my muscles when I was sent here. When I first found these weights, I thought, "Wow, this makes me feel like Rock Lee!" and tried to pick up the heaviest ones, but it's the world of NARUTO, after all. They didn't budge. It turns out they were labeled as 500 kilograms, so I never stood a chance. Thinking about it, even when Rock Lee removed his weights, they were heavy enough to sink into the ground... ninjas are amazing.

After calming down a bit, I realized that these weights, which weren't too heavy for me, were suitable for my current physical strength. I attach the still-price-tagged weights to my arms and legs and try walking around and jumping lightly. However, a total weight of 90 kilograms is quite a strain on the body.

"This... is going to take some getting used to. But I want to at least bring my leg strength up to the level of a high-ranking ninja. So, the weights I buy next time might need to be a bit more daring?"

I haven't been granted any special talents, so I might have to push myself a bit, considering that I'll die if I don't. Well, I haven't tested the extent of the card's abilities, and I don't have a place to try it, so I'll have to experiment with low-impact magic or trap testing at night. In these three days, I've bought daily necessities and food, but the contents of the store are still mostly untouched. The store doesn't even have a name or a sign yet. In reality, even though the interior of the store isn't a mess, I haven't opened the store just because it doesn't have a sign.

"There are many things to consider, but for now, the main focus should be on improving physical abilities and establishing a daily routine. The most pressing issue to think about is probably the store's name. As for acquiring used books, I found a warehouse of books underground, so that should suffice for a while. Since there don't seem to be any used bookstores nearby, I could probably just put up a sign saying 'We Buy Unwanted Books.' As for the Nine-Tails event, I still have time to think about it carefully."

Once I've established my plan to some extent, I jot down today's decisions on a piece of paper and tuck it into the desk. Now, all I need to do today is think of a name for the store. Ideally, I want to come up with a name today and open the store within three days.

"What should I do... A simple and Japanese-sounding name would be good. It should also indicate that we sell books. When it comes to words related to books, we have 'sho,' 'yomi,' 'kan,' 'hon,' 'bun,' and so on, right?"

Various words run through my mind, but no matter how I combine them, nothing feels quite right. I decide to give up on the idea of only using words related to books.

"Home for Books... This sounds like a bookstore. Hidden Haven for Books... I quite like this one, but I'll put it on hold. Huh? How about 'Books Rest Here until a New Owner Is Found'? Book's Inn... Oh, I think this one might work well!"

I decide on the name 'Book's Inn' for the store and plan to go buy a signboard for it. I also decide that while I'm at it, I'll explore some parts of the village I haven't seen yet. I return to my room to prepare, and all I need to bring with me are a map and my wallet, so it doesn't take long.

By the way, where do you even buy a signboard? Do sign shops exist? It might seem a bit daunting all of a sudden, but I should be able to find out by asking someone who runs a store! Alright, once I've decided, I'll start by looking for a cool signboard and asking the shopkeeper about it.
