Kapitel 548: Entrusment

Leaving the territory of the Mandibuzz, Yuga promptly recalled his Pokémon and hurriedly continued his journey. Along the way, Yuga held the special Miracle Seed and asked the system, "System, do you know what's unique about this Miracle Seed?"

The system remained silent for a moment before responding, [ This Miracle Seed contains a potent vitality, but I don't know its specific function. ]

Yuga could also sense the vigorous vitality emanating from the Miracle Seed. However, this vitality seemed to be perceivable only by Grass-type Pokémon and individuals with special abilities like him. Otherwise, the Mandibuzz wouldn't have treated it as a mere decoration in their nest.

Typical Miracle Seeds only emitted a rich Grass-type energy, lacking the vibrant sense of life.

Although it contained abundant Grass-type energy, a Miracle Seed was ultimately just a carried item for Pokémon and didn't possess life.

However, this special Miracle Seed gave Yuga the feeling that it was still alive, ready to sprout at any moment.

After storing the Miracle Seed away, Chatot continued to scout from the sky, while Yuga cautiously resumed his journey.

After an unknown amount of time had passed, Yuga suddenly heard intermittent groaning sounds.

"Chatot, what's going on?" Yuga asked, looking up at Chatot, who was flying above.

"I'm not sure, but this sound seems somewhat familiar," Chatot responded with uncertainty.

Yuga said, "Let's go check it out."

The sound was incredibly mournful, and it had affected Yuga so much that he felt compelled to investigate.

Having made up his mind, Yuga followed the direction from which the sound was coming. Chatot flapped its wings and kept pace with Yuga.

Yuga pushed aside layers of branches and grass, peering inside. To his astonishment, the source of the groaning was none other than the Tropius he had encountered earlier.

Unbeknownst to him, he had unknowingly ventured into the Tropius's territory. This appeared to be the Tropius's nest, constructed from a plethora of green grass. The Tropius lay inside, covered in blood, and appeared to be on the brink of death.

The Tropius had numerous claw marks and wounds all over its body, but the most fatal injury was undoubtedly the massive hole in its abdomen, large enough to accommodate half a person's head.

Those Mandibuzz had been ruthless, digging a bloody hole in the Tropius's belly with sheer brutality, leaving it with no chance of survival.

Seeing the pitiable state of the Tropius, Yuga felt helpless. Even if he wanted to save it, the hole in its belly was beyond his abilities. Only Nurse Joy could possibly heal such an injury.

Yuga's special ability also has the ability to heal, but he is not able to use it skillfully. Even if he uses it on the Tropius, it will not have a significant effect. The injury has exceeded the normal category.

While contemplating the situation, Yuga suddenly noticed a green and brown-patterned Pokémon egg beneath the Tropius's belly. Astonishingly, this egg was covered in fine cracks.

Could it be that the Tropius had snatched the Miracle Seed for this Pokémon egg's sake?

Yuga could sense that, despite the numerous cracks, the little one inside the egg was struggling desperately to survive, tenaciously holding onto its last thread of life.

Yuga thought that if the Tropius had indeed retrieved the Miracle Seed, this Pokémon egg might still have a chance.

While Yuga was observing the egg, the Tropius suddenly noticed him peering inside. Even though it was on the brink of death, its eyes remained sharp, glaring fiercely at Yuga.

Realizing he had been discovered, Yuga didn't attempt to hide any longer. He boldly stepped out, knowing that the Tropius, in its current condition, couldn't harm him.

As Yuga approached the Tropius, the dragon's eyes widened, filled with a mix of anger and suspicion. It seemed like it wanted to devour Yuga and protect the precious Pokémon egg it had hidden beneath its body.

Yuga stood his ground not far from the injured Tropius and said, "I have no intention of harming you or your child. Besides, in your current condition, I could deal with you easily."

While the Tropius acknowledged the logic behind Yuga's words, it regarded him with a skeptical gaze. Strangers weren't to be trusted.

The Tropius, like Yuga's Gengar, was a peak pseudo-Elite level Pokémon. So the look he glares at Yuga is quite imposing.

"You snatched this Miracle Seed for your child, didn't you?" Yuga said as he revealed the Miracle Seed he had taken from the Mandibuzz.

The Tropius's eyes widened even further upon seeing the Miracle Seed, emitting a gentle green glow. This item, which it had tried so hard to obtain despite suffering severe injuries, was now casually presented by the stranger.

Yuga's willingness to display the special Miracle Seed was mainly due to his interest in the Tropius's child. He sensed that the Pokémon egg possessed a blue potential. If this Miracle Seed could save the egg, he was willing to make the exchange.

After all, the Tropius was on the brink of death, and it wouldn't make sense to let a valuable blue potential Pokémon egg go to waste, especially in such a perilous place.

"Tropius, Tropius"

Please give me that Miracle Seed.

To save its child, the Tropius lowered its proud head to Yuga.

Yuga responded, "I'll give it to you, but after you've healed your child, what will happen to it? In this perilous place, without your protection, it's nearly impossible for it to survive. You should be able to feel that you're about to die."

Although Yuga had understood the Tropius's words, the Tropius wasn't surprised by this comprehension. It had never encountered humans and didn't know that they couldn't understand Pokémon language. After all, Pokémon could communicate with each other. Therefore, it assumed Yuga could too.

Yuga's words made the Tropius fall into silence. Indeed, it was nearing death, but what would happen to its child afterward?

Seeing the Tropius remain silent, Yuga continued, "If you trust me, you can entrust your child to me. I'll take good care of it."

Not surprisingly, Tropius's child should be a Grass-type Pokémon. As a semi Grass-type Trainer, he can train a few more Grass-type Pokémon. After all, he only has four Grass-type Pokémon, which is not a lot. It is time to raise a few more.

Hearing Yuga's proposal, Tropius glanced at Yuga in surprise, but it had no other choice but to accept Yuga's proposal.

"Tropius, Tropius."

Please be kind to my child.

For the sake of its own children, Tropius has put its attitude to the lowest level. As a pseudo-Elite level Pokémon this is already very difficult. If it were not really helpless, it would not easily entrust its children to a strangers.

Under Yuga's gaze, Tropius pushed his child, the cracked Pokémon egg in front of Yuga.
