"Damn it! Let's scram! No way we can take them all out!"
Observing the Alliance wizards emerging from behind Rosier, Christine abandoned any intentions of capture. Swiftly, she raised her wand, unleashing the first spell.
As Christine'sRosier, a barrage of spells, deftly deflected Christine's incantation, varied in nature, filled the air between the two factions.
Yet, compared to the formidable Alliance supporting Rosier, Christine's allies were noticeably fewer and lacked a numerical advantage.
Amid the brief stalemate, a scream echoed behind Christine. Upon turning around, she witnessed "Cedric" incapacitating one of her wizards.
The corners of "Cedric's" mouth twitched as he transformed his appearance before Christine, revealing himself to be Abernathy.
"Very clever, young lady, but alas, you've chosen the wrong side," Abernathy expressed regretfully, meeting Christine's gaze.
"Abernathy, you weren't so talkative before!"
Simultaneously, the "Green" next to Abernathy assumed a different appearance, revealing himself to be Carlo.
Observing the hall filled with spells and curses being cast left and right, Carlo exclaimed enthusiastically, "Hey! Let's make more ruckus here, it feels kind of too quiet. Kick it up a notch!"
With Rosier's group now present, the wizards who had initially surrounded Carlo and Abernathy shifted allegiance, leaving the two with newfound freedom.
At this critical moment, only Christine discerned the shift unfolding behind her. However, Carlo's wand flickered to life before she could issue a warning.
"Expelliarmus!"
"Stupefy!"
"Avada Kedavra!"
A surge of green light swiftly extinguished the life of a wizard near Christine, who slumped lifelessly to the ground.
"It seems like you're not so lucky after all. What a shame... I was hoping you could provide a little more struggle before your worthless life comes to an end." Carlo remarked, glancing toward the fallen wizard with exaggerated theatricality.
Christine, noticing the diminishing number of wizards around her, felt a rising sense of anxiety.
After surveying the situation, she focused on Carlo and Abernathy behind her.
"Let's team up to bring them down!" Christine yelled furiously, commanding all the surviving wizards on her side to work together.
Christine's strategy was straightforward – use Carlo and Abernathy as hostages, leveraging them to coerce the Alliance into allowing her and her associates to depart.
Though fully aware of the slim chances of the Alliance conceding, it was the best course of action in the current predicament.
As Christine's command echoed, the wizards closest to her redirected their aim toward Carlo and Abernathy.
"She's getting desperate! This is getting interesting!" Carlo said with an excited expression as he readied his wand once again with an undeterred look, ready to take Christine's party out.
Fortunately, if it were not for Abernathy's composure, they would get into a fight once again. He seized Carlo's arm, interjecting, "Alright, that's enough. If things go wrong here, we would only be a hindrance to the young Lord's plan."
With that, Abernathy manipulated the disguised door key, causing the figures of the two to vanish from their current location.
Helplessly, Christine could only witness Carlo and Abernathy slip away once more, a situation that left her feeling increasingly desperate.
To compound Christine's frustration, Wentworth's voice echoed again, taunting her:
"Christine Graves? If memory serves, that's your name, right? Why persist? You're beyond redemption!"
Christine turned her gaze toward the source of the voice, spotting Wentworth leisurely returning, encircled by numerous Alliance wizards.
As much as Christine despised Wentworth, his fearless demeanor forced her to acknowledge the truth he spoke.
In response to his taunt, Christine asked Wentworth with a mix of frustration and resignation clearly on her face, "Wentworth Grindelwald, if we surrender, will our lives be spared?"
To Christine's dismay, Wentworth slowly shook his head. Just when she was bracing for the worst, Wentworth clarified, "Sparing all of you after what you've done to us? It would be impossible! You know it yourself how far you've acted, Miss... but, I could promise you one thing, I'll seek the fair punishment considering you've surrendered as well."
Christine couldn't help but laugh bitterly at Wentworth's response, admitting, "Your answer convinces me you're not trying to deceive us."
With a turn towards the wizards at her side, Christine declared:
"We've lost. Lower your wands. I hope you can all return home unharmed."
Taking the lead, Christine tossed her wand toward Wentworth's feet, asserting, "Wentworth Grindelwald! I orchestrated all of this. They merely followed my orders! Spare them, and I'll be at your disposal!"
Wentworth wore a perplexed expression as he inquired, "My lady, could you enlighten me on why? What grievances do we hold?"
Initially a casual inquiry, Wentworth found himself taken aback when Christine, almost involuntarily, responded, "Blood Sea Vengeance!"
Wentworth only stared at Christine with a puzzled expression. He didn't know anything about what she just uttered.
Before Wentworth could unravel this cryptic response, Christine determined to reveal more by declaring, "Curious about our origins? Allow me to enlighten you!"
However, just as Christine was about to divulge further, a voice interjected from behind Wentworth, stating, "Magic Congress of the United States!"
Turning around, Wentworth discovered Abernathy hastily approaching.
Abernathy scrutinized Christine and remarked, "Who are you? What kind of connection do you have with Percival Graves?"
Caught off guard by the sudden exposure of her identity, Christine hesitated for a moment before swiftly responding, "That's my grandfather."
Intrigued, Wentworth approached Abernathy and inquired, "Percival Graves? Who is he?"
Abernathy, wearing a nostalgic expression, replied to Wentworth, "During my time at the Magical Congress of the United States, Percival Graves held the positions of Director of Magical Security and Director of Magical Law Enforcement!"
Wentworth was impressed hearing about this "Percival Graves" figure, he exclaimed, "A significant figure!"
Abernathy continued, "More importantly, he was once a member of our Alliances." His expression turned akin to remembering a fond memory mixed with bitter feelings...
"This is impossible!" Christine protested in horror as she heard the revelation from Abernathy's mouth.
Knowing how her Grandfather is not supposed to be the kind of man she used to look up to, her world shattered as the voices around her slowly creaked into her head.
Upon hearing that Percival Graves was once a proud member of the Alliance, Christine is at a loss.
Even Wentworth had his mouth wide open after knowing the root of this all problem stems from an ex-Alliance member.
Has a once proud figure serving under Gellert Grindelwald betrayed the most loyal party of all time? What brings him to do so? Wentworth could only question and keep guessing everything as it went by.
