Chapter 35: The Weakest One in the Tavern

At the same time, a broom struck the leader's face, causing him to scream in pain as he fell to the ground. Then, the broom handle jabbed into the belly of the third person, causing him to arch like a shrimp and collapse on the ground.

Adrian was astonished to see that at some point, Tom had changed into jeans and a wide-brimmed hat. Tom walked step by step toward the fallen men, holding a rope in his left hand and a gun in his right hand. He twirled the gun around and pressed it against the head of the person on the ground.

Meanwhile, Artoria held the broom backwards, placing the handle against the throat of another person. It looked as if she was holding a spear, capable of fatally stabbing someone even without a blade.

"Adrian said that those who don't pay should be dealt with," Tom spoke, the gun on the person's head. It would have been more intimidating if his other hand wasn't holding a half-bitten biscuit.

Three individuals attempting to dine and dash found themselves on the ground after being dealt with by Tom and Artoria. Adrian felt as though he had been duped; they were easily scared into submission. He pulled out a hunting rifle—Tom's rifle that he had used for duck hunting—and aimed it menacingly at the leader's forehead.

"You said earlier that it would be easy if we didn't know you?" Adrian's frustration boiled over.

The tavern erupted in cheers and whistles as the spectators enjoyed the spectacle.

"Oh!!! Cowboy Tom is amazing!"

"So strong, Miss Artoria!"

"Adrian is so weak..."

"The young boss is so weak!"

Tom and Artoria were familiar faces in the tavern, but most of the patrons viewed Artoria as little more than a pretty face since she was always facing away, eating nonstop. They considered her to be nothing more than a mascot for the tavern.

Although Adrian introduced Artoria as the tavern's guard, most people didn't take it seriously. Today, however, they had witnessed her combat skills.

An unassuming young girl had taken down two much larger men in an instant. Her clean and swift movements, combined with her head of tousled hair, made her look quite dashing.

In comparison, Adrian, who was now brandishing a gun with all his might, didn't have the same commanding presence.

As a result, many patrons who were familiar with Adrian began to tease and mock him, suggesting that his daily running was merely practice for escaping danger.

"Enough already! Stop teasing me! I'm raising the prices if you keep this up! I'm raising them now!" Adrian shouted in exasperation.

The tavern was filled with raucous laughter and playful jeers.

"Ah..." The patrons weren't bothered. They figured that prices would go up sooner or later, so they might as well enjoy the current rates while they could.

As Adrian tried to restore order, he heard Tom's voice ring out.

"Tom wants to say, it's better to have a good conversation. If not, Tom will increase the price as well."

Tom's words garnered laughter from the crowd. Adrian felt a mixture of emotions. While it was easy to pick people up, it took more effort to throw them far away. He considered whether he should just hang around like an ornament instead.

But it didn't end there. Just as Artoria was about to do the same, Tom stopped her with a raised hand, indicating that he would handle it. He picked up the third person in a similar fashion and walked towards the door, delivering a kick to the person's backside before throwing him out.

The man's trajectory took him right into a garbage bin, and as the bin lid spun around wildly, he managed to stick his head out of the bin. To add insult to injury, a banana peel rested neatly on top of his head.

Tom was satisfied with his handiwork and clapped his hands, then turned around and headed back to the bar.

He was met with cheers and whistles from the patrons, and Adrian's gaze held a mixture of awe and disbelief. It wasn't difficult to pick someone up, but to kick them so hard that they flew over ten meters was a feat of extraordinary strength.

Tom greeted the cheering crowd by raising his hand and then clinked glasses with Artoria before finishing his drink.

Artoria was in a good mood because she had fulfilled her duties as the tavern's guard, which she believed justified her hearty appetite.

Um, this doughnut is pretty good. She handed a doughnut to Tom, taking a bite as her tousled hair bobbed with her mood.

Honestly, Adrian felt somewhat isolated. He sighed and picked up the money from the ground, counting it meticulously.

"By the way, does anyone recognize those three from earlier? Were they really just trying to get a free meal on a whim?" Something still seemed off to Adrian.

A helpful patron responded, "I recognize them. They're the Scott Brothers—Foster, Sykind, and Seld. They're the troublemakers of 57GR. This isn't the first time they've done something like this. Usually, they cause trouble in small restaurants, and many owners put up with it. This time, they must have been scared witless by you guys, Adrian, to behave so well."

"Repeat offenders, huh..." Adrian felt relieved. It seemed like there shouldn't be any problems. From the sound of it, they didn't have any significant backing.

Adrian let out a sigh of relief and thanked the patron, offering them a 9.99% discount on their bill as a token of his gratitude.

"Wow, so stingy!" The comment was met with collective groans from the crowd.

"Hahaha, it's a small business. I still need to support my family," Adrian replied sincerely. Giving discounts recklessly would bankrupt him!

With the business going well, it was time for trouble to start—of course, I'm absolutely not insinuating anything about certain trolls. (Absolutely confident)
