Kapitel 58: 58. Into The Gate

===Godrick===

"FORWARD!" One of the spirits commanded. As if one body, the skjaldborg marched forward, slowly but surely.

Godrick and Heracles reacted at the same moment, sprinting at the shield wall full force.

The two giants crashed into the wall, a great clap of thunder following them as they broke through.

Godrick had adapted to the strength of the spirits the first time they had met, so when he broke through the runic barrier before the wall, then the wall itself, he was mostly unaffected by their weapons. Though this didn't stop them from trying their best to cut him down.

Heracles however, had never fought against this Noble Phantasm, and as such, when he broke through the barrier then the wall, he was bombarded by EX strength attacks.

The spears drew back, then pierced forward, the swords slashed and cut, while the knife's darted back and forth, all drawing blood.

Heracles roared in rage and pain, smashing his ax-sword around, quickly clearing a path, only to be hamstrung, much like when the Juggernaut had faced them for the first time as well.

The Berserker protected his face with his left forearm as his right hand, which held his weapon, swiped out, cutting through the ranks, only for them to be filled a moment later.

Help soon arrived as Godrick fought his way down the mass of spirits, ripping and tearing his way to his comrade.

The Juggernauts halberd ripped through the spirits as he made wide swings with it like he was reaping wheat. Only now, he was reaping souls.

The Spirits tried to fight, but they could do nothing as Godrick tore them apart.

Finally, he made it to Berserker, and with a mighty stomp of his right foot, the ground shattered around them, sending debris into the air, and killing most of the spirits in the proximity.

Heracles gripped Godricks left forearm, as the Juggernaut pulled him to his feet while still lashing out with his halberd, cutting down the group of soldiers.

The two worked in tandem to kill the remaining warriors, but to their surprise, none of them fled. Each spirit held their ground. Even the last man who stood against the two behemoths.

The spirit died with his weapon in his hand, and his honor intact like his brothers.

Not wanting to leave the portal unattended, Godrick left Heracles to watch it, while he went back to the house in the woods, to prepare for the next attack.

Arriving at the cabin, Godrick walked in and was greeted by a grim sight before he dematerialized his armor.

Lancer had been moved to the main level, and had been talking with Rin about something. She had obviously not taken it well, as she had her arms folded and was looking away from him.

Blood leaked from Lancers mouth, but he apparently couldn't feel the pain at all. The hole in his chest was bleeding profusely, and his fingers barely held onto his spear.

Jeanne came over to Godrick to greet him, and was met with a kiss to her cheek, which made her blush profusely at the open display of affection.

"I didn't know we were at that stage in our relationship." She lightly said with a smile.

"We weren't. But I see no reason to not take it there." Godrick signed to her before walking over to Lancer and kneeling next to the seat he was in.

"Don't look at me like that. I just wish that I could participate in this last fight of yours. Rin told me what's going on, and I wish I could help. But without a master and this massive hole in my chest, I don't think I can." He said

"I hope that I get a chance to redeem myself in the future." He continued, before giving a heavy sigh. "So many regrets."

"We might be able to have Shirou help you. He could maybe be your master?" Rin finally said, turning back towards Lancer.

There was a brief silence in the room before Lancer finally broke it.

"I'd rather die."

"Oh screw you!" Shirou shouted at the servant, slightly offended at his words.

"I wouldn't want you as a servant anyway you shitty spearman!" Shirou continued.

A slight smile came to Lancers lips, as Shirou continued to throw verbal abuse at him. Soon, Rin calmed the red haired boy, and the room fell into silence once more.

Lancer started to fade into blue particles, and the room became somber.

"Goodbye Lancer." Rin said.

"I'm sorry I couldn't do more." Lancer said, expressing his regret.

"Who knows. You might get another chance." Jeanne said, coming over and placing a hand on Godrick's back causing him to look back at her.

"We have no idea what the Root has in store for us. We might meet again." She said.

Godrick nodded while he looked back at Lancer.

"Don't have too much fun." Cu Chulainn said before fading completely, leaving the chair, and the room, empty.

Rin sighed, breaking the silence.

"What now?" She asked.

Godrick then turned to Jeanne, and explained what he and Heracles had encountered. She then turned to the group and relayed what he had told her, eliciting multiple reactions.

"We need to strike!" Shirou said enthusiastically.

"We should be cautious." Artoria said at the same time.

Rin, Shirou, Illya, and Saber started to discuss what the best course of action was, leaving Jeanne and Godrick to converse quietly in the corner.

"What do you think is best?" Jeanne asked.

"I'm tired of chasing people around the city. Ivar and Gilgamesh are inside that Gate, and they have nowhere left to run. I say we go in, and rip them apart." Godrick signed to her.

"What of your mothers call to cautiousness?" She asked.

"I agree that we should be cautious, but I also think that we can handle anything they might throw at us. No chivalry, no honor, no holding back. Just us vs them in an all out fight to the death." He responded before standing and walking to the center of the room with Jeanne.

"No more debates. We go in and come out victorious. No chivalry." He signed to his mother.

"No honor," He signed to Shirou.

"And no more holding back." He signed to Rin and Illya.

"We are going into the Gate to kill everything. We just need time so I can build up my reserves and activate my self detonation. If you don't like that, then stay here." He signed before walking out the door, and towards where the Gate was situated.

"Godrick," His mothers voice came from the house, and she quickly came to his side as they walked.

"This is foolish, to charge in there with no plan whatsoever? What are you thinking?" She asked.

"You only have to delay until I can gather enough energy to activate my self detonation. You make a plan if you want to. We have Archer on the inside so plan around that. But myself and Berserker?" He signed as they came to the clearing.

That same servant was standing over the fading body of a spirit, and there were signed of a fight that had happened since Godrick had left.

"We will simply kill until I can wipe them all out in one single blast." Godrick signed to her before walking to Heracles.

"OK, well, while you two do that, the rest of us will come up with a plan then." Artoria said with a hint of disapproval, pulling Jeanne by the arm and bringing her over to Rin, Shirou, and Illya, who had followed them to the Gate.

"Stay away from him." Artoria whispered to Jeanne, which caused her to wink at the Juggernaut.

Quickly coming up with a plan of attack, mainly where everyone would be situated, and how best to use everyone's abilities, it was determined that the best place for the masters to stay was within reach of their Servants, or of Jeanne and Artoria, who would stay back while Godrick and Heracles cleared most of the army.

Illya walked to Berserker, and placed one of her small hands on his massive thigh.

"No holding back ok?" She asked, to which he responded with a grunt.

Godrick and Heracles stood in front of everyone, with Jeanne, Artoria, Rin, Illya, and Shirou standing behind them.

"Is everyone ready?" Artoria asked, to which everyone made their confirmation known.

"Then let's go." She said.

Godrick walked into the Gate first, quickly followed by Heracles.

On the other side, they saw an enormous field of green grass speckled with trees. It was cut into two halves by a stream running through the middle. It was surrounded by a ring of tree, which was all encased in a ring of tall mountains.

On the far end of the reality marble, carved into the side of one of the mountains, was a massive hall of wood and stone. And in-between… a massive army.

A few hundred was an understatement. It was more like a few thousand if anything.

"Holy shit. How are we going to get past all of those "Heroic Spirits"?" Shirou asked.

"From what Bjorn told Godrick, they're all lower tier servant class Heroic Spirits. None of them are named figures. But I have to agree with Shirou, Godrick. What do you plan to do?" Jeanne asked.

Godrick responded by rolling his shoulders and summoning his halberd. He looked over to Heracles, who nodded.

Taking a step forward, the Juggernaut began to walk forward, which turned into a jog before he was soon sprinting at the army before him full force.

Heracles was by his side, the two behemoths running full force at the army that stood in their way.

Before they clashed, Godrick leapt high into the air, spinning around to build momentum with his halberd before he came crashing down on the army, smashing his weapon into the ground.

The ground shattered where Godrick landed, sending the army sprawling and scattering around him. The Heroic Spirits in Godrick direct vicinity were killed, as they couldn't take the force of Godricks halberd.

The Juggernaut ripped his weapon from the ground and began swinging it, indiscriminately hitting anyone he could with his halberd.

He was funneling as much energy as he could spare to his strength stat, raising it to EX.

His blows were strong enough to completely obliterate anything they came into contact with, and the "Heroic Spirits" fell one after another.

Each time Godrick was hit with something, a portion of the energy would be stored, and slowly his reserves started to build.

Taking his halberd, he whipped it around himself, cleaving Spirits in two.

One spirit gave a shout of rage, and died with Godricks halberd piercing through his open mouth, and through the back of his neck.

Taking the Spirit with his halberd, the Juggernaut swung to his right, bisecting another couple spirits.

Heracles was much the same. He smashed into the army, his left shoulder crashing into the line before his right arm, which held his weapon, swiped to his left, taking with it the lives of the front rank.

He gave a mighty battle cry, and began to kill what he could.

Slowly, the Berserkers body was covered in small scratches and cuts, but he was unconcerned. His mind was more on letting loose, as he didn't have to worry about the collateral damage.

His roars of rage soon turned into shouts of delight as he was able to go all out.

Artoria, Jeanne, and the others just kind of stood there, seeing the army divide to the two sides, migrating to where Godrick and Heracles were fighting.

"So do we just get in there or what?" Artoria asked unenthusiastically, holding Excalibur in her right hand as she gestured towards the battlefield with both arms.

"I say we just let them handle it. I don't think they get this chance very often." Jeanne said.

"Berserker is having the time of his life right now." Illya said, looking to where her servant was with her good right eye.

Spirits were being thrown into the air by the two servants as they stomped on the ground, or swung their weapons at particular angles.

Godrick grinned under his helmet, feeling his reserves growing by the second as he twisted, parried, and retaliated against those around him. He was holding his halberd by the butt end in his right hand, giving him an enormous reach as he swung it around his body. He blocked with his bare left arm when he could, but the attacks he was receiving were inconsequential, as many of these spirits had rank B strength. There were a few who had rank A strength and above, but the Juggernaut took care of them quickly.

Smashing the skull of a spirit with his halberd, he twisted to his right and brought his halberd down on the ground, causing an earthquake to shake the reality marble, and throw the spirits around Godrick into the air as the ground around him shattered.

Releasing all the kinetic energy in his armor, the energy hit the surrounding spirits with enough force to obliterate their bodies, leaving a massive chunk of the army decimated.

Godrick ripped his halberd from the ground, and placed it on his shoulder as he surveyed his surroundings. The Spirits that were mostly unaffected by his release were getting to their feet, and collecting themselves as they prepared to charge once more before a loud voice stopped them.

"Stay back!" Ivar said as he finally appeared in a flash of lightning.

"I will handle this!" He shouted, pulling his Ax from his back, and getting into a fighting position.

"I couldn't beat you when we first fought, but now, you don't even stand a chance!" He yelled at the Juggernaut, who simply hefted his halberd from his shoulder, and charged.

(A/N: Hello all, I'm sorry about not uploading on Wednesday or Thursday. I had every intention to, but my wife ended up in the hospital again.

The good news is we finally have a date when her Ileostomy gets taken down, and she gets to live like a normal person again! July 27!

I appreciate you all being patient and understanding during this time, and I know that some of you might feel like the story is moving too slowly. I'm hoping after the second surgery, everything will be able to get back to normal!

Again, thank you all so much for reading and participating in this little story of mine. I can't tell you all how much you all mean to me.

I appreciate each and everyone of you!)
