Kapitel 175: Whispers in the Dark (2) [R18]

Mikael knew what lurked on the other side, yet he could not ignore the pull that tugged him, drawing him forward like a moth to a flame.

He walked out of the adjacent bedroom, each step he made was cautious and hesitant. He noticed that despite the absence of a lit fireplace, the air seemed strangely warmer now in the guest area. 

As he ventured closer to the closed door and it registered to him, he sensed something unusual, the pheromones began to seep through the gap under the door, catching Mikael off guard and prompting him to stop.

The faint yet unmistakable scent hung in the air like delicate flakes, swirling slowly and seductively, sending a shiver down his spine and putting his heart racing in weird apprehension. Pressing his lips tight, Mikael's gaze fixated on the closed door ahead.

"Mikael," Nicolaus called out in a low and gentle voice, tugging at his heart for reasons he could not really understand.
