"How's things going on with the lady?" Viktor asked Sergie as they were on their way back to the hotel where he was residing in New York, after a long trip from the town where they had gone insearch of the orphanage where his poor daughter, Aubrey was taken in.

Unfortunately, the orphanage has run out of business or maybe Margaret didn't give them the correct information just like Sergie said, but then Viktor knew that the young woman needed money, not after witnessing her interactions with her son at the hospital.

Just like him, she's a parent and that's the only reason why he believes that she wouldn't do anything that would alter her son's life, so that's what Sergie failed to understand because he has no family of his own.
