Emily swallowed hard as she looked at Cale. She didn't know how he had found out about plans that no one else knew about and couldn't possibly know about.

'He's been here for two days and he already knows everything?'

A bead of sweat ran down Emily's temple and onto her cheek. She tried to remain calm. Even if Cale knew all this, he wouldn't have any proof. So Emily played dumb.

"Mr. Rivera, it seems you have misunderstood something. I don't understand why you came to tell me."

Emily spoke confidently and Cale smiled coldly at her. 

"It's no use lying when I can read your mind, Emily," he said, and Emily's eyes widened.

"Wh-what?"

"You and those scientists who came here after you... Your purpose was clear from the beginning. You want to destroy the town you live in."

In her panic, Emily saw Perez standing behind Cale. Smiling as if her savior had arrived, she rushed to him and grabbed his arm.
