Kapitel 1364: -1346- What I should do next

Asking himself, in his life so far, has Rozen ever desperately fought for something for himself?

Probably not, right?

In Chaldea, saving humanity, Rozen wasn't doing it for himself, but for Romani, Mash, and the others' lives.

In the world of automaton, pursuing the reason for his clan's extermination, Rozen likewise wasn't doing it for himself, but to repay the Akabane family who raised him.

Likewise, Rozen traveled to various worlds, training hard and defeating enemies, not for himself, but just to become stronger so he could better handle crises facing humanity.

So, what Rozen truly pursued was probably only the study of magic, the exploration of mysteries, and the pursuit of miracles, right?

These were goals Rozen set when he was saved at the age of two, ingrained into his instincts, never to be forgotten.

Only in this aspect did Rozen actively strive.

But besides this, had Rozen actively pursued anything else?

No.

Really no.

In Chaldea, Rozen already possessed intelligence but only expressed dissatisfaction through rebellion, never considering changing things himself, which was an example.

In other worlds, when Rozen intervened in the lives of various girls, giving them salvation, it was simply because he had been saved before and had his own principles and bottom lines, in short, he couldn't sit idly by, not actively trying to change things.

The only proactive behavior Rozen showed was probably when it involved human experimentation and the like; he would impulsively get angry and act without thinking. But this wasn't actively trying to change things, just venting his emotions.

This was childishness.

This was why it's often emphasized that Rozen's essence was still that of a child.

Of course, this wasn't Rozen's fault, but the result of the fate and life that had been heavily imposed on him.

Who would want to change Chaldea, which had treated him like that?

Who could sit by when their inner pain was touched upon?

If this is what immaturity is, then Rozen was indeed immature.

But who could blame him? Who could say he was wrong?

If they could, who would want to remain childish?

Circumstances forced him; there was really no other way.

But as Stella said, Rozen's previous helplessness was understandable; now that he was so strong and intelligent, he should be a reliable man.

After all, Rozen couldn't always meet someone willing to take care of him despite the constant reincarnations, nor would others always be there to shield him from the storm.

He was no longer a child to be raised; it was time to show his will and fight for what he wanted.

As Stella said.

Be brave.

Be proactive.

Be more like himself.

That was what Rozen should consider.

"Ha...hahaha…"

Rozen suddenly laughed.

That laugh had none of the usual laziness.

That laugh had none of the previous nonchalance.

As if all the haze had been dispelled, everything became clear, and Rozen laughed heartily.

"Is this what they call being outwitted by your own cleverness?"

Rozen spoke as if mocking.

But he wasn't mocking Stella, but himself.

"That's right!"

Seeing Rozen laughing so heartily, Stella also nodded and smiled.

The two looked at each other and laughed, saying and doing nothing more, only feeling happiness and joy radiate from within.

Until a little while later...

"Thank you, Stella." Rozen looked directly at Stella, sincerely saying, "I didn't expect that, as your mentor, I would be taught a lesson by you instead."

"Con...consider it a bit of repayment for your usual devoted guidance!" Stella seemed a bit shy as she turned her gaze away but then asked, "So, are you going to find Edel-san now?"

Stella started to feel a bit excited.

Unfortunately, Rozen calmly spoke instead.

"No, I'm not planning to go find her."

This statement caused Stella Vermillion to raise her eyebrows in surprise.

Seeing her reaction, Rozen could only smile wryly.

"Don't worry, it's not that I don't want to, but I feel even if I go, chances are I won't find her anymore."

Rozen's words left Stella momentarily stunned.

But it was entirely plausible.

"To be honest with you," Rozen continued, "Edelweiss has already recognized me."

"Huh?" Stella widened her eyes.

"She already knows I am Tenkai," Rozen repeated, adding, "Under these circumstances, do you think she would still stay at that restaurant as a pastry chef?"

That was impossible.

Although Edelweiss had left directly after recognizing Rozen today, Rozen knew it wasn't because she had given up on pursuing him. Rather, she was preparing to handle her own affairs first before seeking clarification.

"Don't be deceived by her appearance. She really loves making pastries and equally loves eating them. It's likely she stayed at that restaurant temporarily to have a place to stay and to satisfy her preferences after confirming I was here," Rozen explained confidently.

"And with her dedication to pastries, even if she finds me, she would finish her work for today, resign from her job, and only then start dealing with her most important matters."

Therefore, by now, completely dark outside, Edelweiss had likely finished resigning and left the family restaurant.

Even if Rozen went to find her, it would be in vain.

"What... What should we do then?" Stella couldn't help but feel anxious.

But Rozen, seeming confident, suddenly smiled.

"Don't worry," Rozen said meaningfully. "If my expectations are correct, she will come to find us soon enough."

Until then, Rozen only needed to wait.

Waiting for the true reunion that was about to come and adjusting himself to accept what was to arrive.

With this thought in mind, Rozen turned his head to look at the round moon hanging high outside the window.

"I really need to think about what I should do next."

These words not only reached Stella's ears but also the ears of the white girl who existed here in spiritual form.

The white girl silently gazed at Rozen.

As always, she remained silent.

....

At the same time, outside Hagun Academy.

"Is this the place?"

Still dressed in casual attire, Edelweiss appeared here, gazing at the campus scenery before her.

Her pure white hair resembled snow.

Her bright eyes sparkled like stars.

Edelweiss gazed steadily for a while.

Then, she stepped inside.
