That's a phrase Cassidy lived for since she could remember. One she learned from her mother one of those days she found her crying in her room.
"Words are carried off by the wind, Cass. So don't take words for granted. What you see is what matters."
That's why she couldn't help but hear those same words again. Right there.
She couldn't fight the logic she had been living by this whole time.
So she looked at him intently.
"That's a serious affirmation. Y'know?"
"I know," he blurted out, taking one step back.
Air finally embraced her, making her feel a little cold. She shrugged, dropping her gaze to the floor. Kyle leaning a little forward.
"Will you let me?" He pushed just to hear a confirmation.
She glanced at him for a second, nodding.
A heavy sigh made her look up again. He was spinning around, fists high, celebrating in silence. Half smiling, she left the room.
