Whoever this assassin had been working for was not only targeting him but also trying to stop them from discovering the dark truth that had been lurking beneath Lorrence's surface.

James crouched down, turning the body of the assassin to search for any identifying marks or items that could give them a clue as to who sent him. He ran his fingers along the assassin's belt and armor, finding nothing of immediate value until his fingers brushed against something cold and metallic inside a hidden pocket.
