Thalia's Narrative

As the man who had lifted me off the ground began walking towards the car, the woman quickly rushed over and opened the door. The pain coursing through my body made it impossible for me to speak out or protest against what was happening. Just as she was about to open the door, another hand abruptly reached out and held it firmly.

"Ma'am, please step aside," I heard Isabella firmly tell someone. "We are in a hurry."

I mustered the strength to open my eyes and catch a glimpse of the person she was addressing – it was Kayla. She leaned into the car and took hold of my trembling hand, while her right palm cupped my chin.

"You cursed human!" Kayla snarled and a malicious chuckle escaped her lips. Her grip on my chin grew tighter and more forceful.
