61.9% CEO Husband Takes me on a Vengeance Quest / Chapter 52: A Useless Threat

Kapitel 52: A Useless Threat

Bella was full of confusion and contempt. She glanced at Michael, who was sitting opposite.

"How can you offer such a request? Isn't it enough for you Steele Group to go through the hardship? Why do you have to get Harper Group involved?"

Michael froze for a while. He then smiled at her, picked up the coffee, and drank it in one gulp.

Bella looked at him with a little impatience, fiddling with her watch from time to time.

"Are you in a hurry?"

"Uh-huh. So do you have anything else to say?"

"Just this one and you have to promise me."

Michael said in a peaceful tone but filled with confidence.

Bella, for a moment, felt curious and kept staring at him. She then couldn't help but sneer.

"Are you out of your mind to say that to me? I must promise you? No way."

Bella had already signed a contract with the treaty that they would fully use eco-friendly building materials from Grand Group. If they secretly used that of someone else, it would be a breach of contract and they would have to pay for it.

Steele Group had now offended Grand Group, and businessmen always pursued the interest. They would not go against Grand Group and brought such big trouble for themselves.

In terms of strength, Harper Group wasn't comparable to Grand Group.

So what Michael asked was simply a joke, and there was no way Bella would agree to it.

"You really don't want to think about it anymore? Although you have a contract, Grand Group won't know what exactly you use. I can offer you a good price. We are businessmen. Why not aim to make money?

"If we use the materials from others secretly, maybe it'll be fine. But the whereabouts of the materials of Steele Group is the primary focus of Grand Group.

I'm afraid it'll be found by Grand Group before we use those stuff," Bella thought.

Bella shook her head and glanced at him without any intention to be moved by the price.

In addition to this batch of building materials, they had other projects to cooperate with Grand Group. Besides, Bella had had a crush on Ethan for so long and was determined to be Mrs. Frost. How could she possibly offend Grand Group for such a small benefit?

Besides, if she really did so, she would have to pay much more than the current benefit.

"Stop it. No matter how attractive the price is, I will not agree."

Michael looked at her and smiled coldly, looking like he didn't take her words seriously.

Seeing Michael's expression, Bella had a look of contempt. She then picked up her bag and tried to leave.

Getting up from the chair, Bella looked at him and said, "Even if it's free of charge, it's impossible."

Michael sighed and looked at Bella with vague anger in his eyes.

"I'd like to remind you of something. Don't forget that I helped you collect some of the evidence you framed Amelia. If I prove those are all fake and you made me do it, what do you think the result will be?"

Bella was panicking for a moment, and she sat down to stare at Michael fiercely.

Michael was a coward. How could he really dare to do such a thing?

"Hey, do you mean you want to perish both of us?"

"Steele Group is now facing the crisis of survival. Do you know how serious it will be if all these building materials are not able to be consumed?"

"You deserve it. You're to blame."

Bella replied with a vicious look, seemingly unthreatened by his words.

"You don't believe I'll send the evidence..."

Michael looked at Bella with amazement.

Bella smiled disdainfully "Whatever! Let me tell you that Amelia is dead. Those things are meaningless. Who would believe that?"

Hearing that, Michael looked at Bella. For a moment, he froze there with fingers rubbing the cup back and forth.

This was the only bargaining chip he had to negotiate with Bella. He didn't expect it would be of any use at all. He looked numb sitting there in a blank.

"You'd better go back now and figure out a solution,"

Bella finished speaking, got up with a scornful smile, and left.

All of this was heard by Amelia and Aria, who were sitting on the sidelines. Aria was confused, but she heard that the two people had set Amelia up.

Amelia froze there, thinking that getting shares would give Michael a surprise at her birthday party... She was ridiculously silly.

Although she had known for a long time that they designed the trap, after hearing it on her own, her heart still hurt a lot.

Aria put her hand gently on Amelia's to comfort her. Aria did not speak, but the kind eyes made Amelia feel moved.

Bella and Michael left one after another, leaving the two of them here alone.

Amelia got up and returned the glasses and clothes to Aria. She then walked to the restroom to remove the makeup.

"Let's go back."

Ethan looked at the picture Aria sent over of her and Amelia hanging out together. He couldn't help but wear a smile.

"I didn't expect they two would hit it off like this."

"I'm sorry? Mr. Frost."

Mike was standing beside Ethan and looked at Ethan, who was wearing a light smile. The atmosphere in the office was tense because of the busy schedule. Mike had no idea what could make Ethan happy.

Ethan put his phone away and restored the cold face. He coughed gently, "Nothing." Then they went downstairs of the building.

Mike was able to guess that it must have something to do with Sophia.

"Mr. Frost, I gotta go."

"Take care."

Ethan got into the car and drove towards his villa in a hurry.

Separating with Amelia for a day, he became even more impatient to see her, especially after he saw the photos.

When Amelia got home, she grabbed her pajamas and went into the bathroom. The water from the shower sprayed on her, and the conversation between Bella and Michael kept lingering in her mind.

"I really didn't expect to hear the person who framed me admitted it himself. But I couldn't do anything about it. Amelia, you are such a failure," she thought.

At this moment, she only hoped to wash away the sadness inside her heart, and the bad memories that floated in her mind.

Ethan came home and walked to the living room. Seeing no trace of Amelia, he immediately ran upstairs.

In the bedroom, there was her bag and faint light from the bathroom.

Ethan breathed a sigh of relief. He walked over to the bedroom and knocked on the door.

Amelia was stunned for a moment but didn't reply. She was still enjoying the feeling of the warm water spraying on her body.

"Open the door."

"Wait a minute."

Ethan called out since there was no response.

Amelia answered him in a lazy tone.
