Kapitel 23: Ch 22: Meeting the king
Kurina seemed unwilling to believe a word Alex had said to her. She slammed the bathroom door hard enough for others to hear it as well in the corridor
“It seems like someone is unhappy with me when I told them the truth. But I am not lying here. I truly cannot help Kurina since she is not compatible with the goddess of lust.”
Alex dried himself well when he felt another knock on the door. This time, the one who entered the bathroom was another servant. They bowed to Alex and quickly left the bathroom before giving his body a lust-filled look.
Within ten minutes, Alex was dressed up and ready to leave the room. The shorts he had been given left his chest exposed and his pants hugged his thighs well. It heightened his physique and Alex had to admit that he looked good.
The servant who laid down the clothes for Alex gave him a once-over in appreciation before he led him out of the room. They quickly appeared in the hallway and Alex recognized everyone else in his party as well.
Unlike them, Baron Luke had been giving a more ‘regal’ style of clothing that showed nothing of his physique. But since Baron Luke had no muscles to speak of, it was for the better.
Kurina arrived at their location last. She looked flushed and rubbed her legs around in a familiar way.
‘Ah, she must not have enough time to take another bath so Kurina might have stuffed her pussy with something to keep all my semen inside her body.’
If Alex concentrated hard, on his sword he could see a small bump on Kurina’s stomach with his come. But his attention was snapped back toward the front as their guide clapped his hands.
“Now, we will enter the palace grounds so be on your best behaviour. Our king is a gracious one but the court would not tolerate any insult you make toward him. Still, you are our royal guests so look proud of yourself.”
Their guide gave them these last instructions. Alex could not help but feel as if the guide was contradicting himself the more, he spoke.
But he was in no position to complain about anything and followed their guide.
The palace was just as grand as the city had been. Everything was coated in shades of gold and decorated with precious gems. The palace was a sight to see for the sour eyes and the others agreed with that as well.
Baron Luke seemed to not know where his eyes should be. Should he look forward to their guide? Or at the creative ways the decoration was placed and all the gold and precious things that were used.
“We have reached the main room. From here on, you all need to be respectful.”
Their guide opened the room and watched as everything else paled in comparison to this central room.
Be it to decorations, the people or the atmosphere, this place had it all and then more. But the most impressive and eye-catching thing in the room was certainly the man sitting on the throne.
He had a few naked females surrounding his throne but he seemed uninterested in anyone now. But his eyes lightened up as soon as he noticed his guests.
He waved his hand and the females surrounding him walked away one by one. It was only then that the king straightened his back and regained his regal state.
“Welcome, my dear guests. I hope that my servants treated your right. If they gave you any problems, you can let me know. I appreciate you all being here.”
The king spoke softly but his voice echoed through the room. Everyone bowed in front of him Baron Luke forced his party to do the same.
“We were treated very well by your people and I have to say that it was a pleasure. I am very thankful for all that you did for us.”
Baron Luke’s words were full of flattery and his intentions of licking the boots of the king in front of him were evident. But the Baron did not stop even once he knew that his reputation had taken a hit.
The king looked amused to see the Baron react this way but then his eyes moved toward the back of the group. Alex looked away before the king could meet his eyes as they hurt from the aura of gold surrounding the king.
‘It hurts. This man shines too brightly. He must have received a huge amount of power from Plutus.’
That was the only thought that made sense in Alex’s mind. He did not notice how the king stopped observing everyone and singled him out with his gaze for a few seconds before looking away.
“It is my honour to have you all be a part of our kingdom as our esteemed guests. I hope you have a comfortable stay while you remain here.”
The king waved his hand and a wave of servants entered the room. Baron Luke wanted to ask his slaves to help the servants as well but he felt like it was not a good time to do so.
So instead, he forced his slaves to sit down on solid ground even if seats were being prepared for them. And the feat officially began.
Alex made sure not to eat anything that was presented to him. The food has a huge amount of gold aura that made Alex want to puke as soon as he laid eyes on it.
He excused himself early that night and returned to his room.
He had only been in his room for about fifteen minutes when someone knocked on his door and Alex opened it. Surprisingly enough, it was Mahiru who stood at his door.
She held a small piece of bread in her hand. She held it out to Alex and he was surprised to see that it did not have the aura of gold surrounding the bread.
“Here, eat this. You must be hungry.”
Mahiru looked at Alex with an expression full of acceptance and understanding. It seemed like it was safe to eat this bread, but Alex was still hesitant to grab hold of that bread in front of him.
He did not know where Mahiru had found this bread, but he was not going to risk his health and well-being.
‘That bread is safe to eat. It does not have any of the power of the god of abundance inside it.’
Alex looked behind Mahiru, only to see the goddess walk toward him in her stolen body. Her feet made no sound as they contacted the ground but Mahiru still seemed to be aware of her presence.
Mahiru turned around to look at the goddess but her eyes remained calm and unaware. Then, she turned back to Alex and held the bread out.
“Hurry up and take it. Your hunger will not go away on its own. You need to eat if you want to regain your strength.”
Mahiru spoke and forced that bread into Alex’s hand. Then she disappeared down the hallway and went back to the celebration and Ashura’s side.
Alex looked at the piece of bread in his hand and decided to take a bite. He was hungry after all and his hunger increased as soon as he had something solid in his stomach once more.
“Ah, looks like I got beaten by a kid this time. It’s a shame as well since I worked so hard to find all this non-contaminated food.”
The goddess held the food in front of her and Alex reached out toward it with a suspicious look in his eyes.
“Don’t worry. I do not want to poison you or hurt you as well. You absorbed my body so I am also stuck with you as a result. You need to relax and trust me.”
Alex decided to take the goddess’s words at face value and eat the food. His stomach stopped hurting once he was done and he looked at the goddess to know more about the situation outside.
“This whole place is being governed by Plutus’s power. There is not much we can do but leave this place soon. Unfortunately, it seems as if the king has other plans for your party so you need to be careful.”
The goddess warned Alex but her body began to break down. She looked at her hand with an annoyed and disappointed expression as it became more and more transparent.
“Well, looks like this is the limit of this human body. I will come back to you now so brace yourself.”
Alex felt the goddess’s consciousness sink back into his body. The heavy feeling was back and the body in front of him disappeared into smoke. One could not even tell that the servant had been here.
“Won’t they question the disappearance of their own? We will be the likely suspects of her death if people found out that she was here.”
Alex asked the goddess but she sounded calm and unconcerned.
‘No one will come looking for us for such minor things. I told you before right, this place is a deceptive illusion and the real picture is much different than what you are thinking about.'
